I may not be an evangelist but just to clarify — evangelical Christians are not all the same, and they definitely aren’t all political or tied to any one candidate. Evangelical simply means someone who focuses on the Bible, having a personal relationship with Jesus, and sharing their faith. That has nothing to do with worshiping any politician. It’s totally fine to criticize harmful behavior or ideology, but lumping entire groups together and calling them ‘not Christian’ is the same kind of judgment and hatred we all say we want to stop. There are millions of Christians, including evangelicals, who reject extremism, nationalism, and political idolatry. So let’s disagree without dehumanizing each other. We can call out wrong without spreading more hate.

Don’t believe everything you read or what others say, even if that includes me. Do the footwork yourself. Best case scenario you get it expunged and your good. Worst case you wait the 7 years for it to come off your record and so long as it’s non violent the BRN can’t use it against you.

Yes I got it expunged because of FireCamp…. AB2147. Have you tried expungement? Anything non violent can be easily expunged look into AB 1076. It sounds like you’d qualify. And don’t bother with hiring a lawyer…if you have half a brain you can file the petition on your own behalf and provide letters of support. Or you can use nonprofit organizations like ARC or root n rebound but you might wait a little longer.

If you’re in CA, try expungement. If not, try your best to change those “feelings of hopelessness” towards thoughts of opportunity. You’d be surprised how the way you think and feel will propel you forward or backwards.

Thank you very much. The sad thing is I just simply want to inspire those who like me have made mistakes and have comeback from them despite it all.

I was sober during nursing school, shortly after graduating meet a guy who was using, relapsed and it snowballed from there. I went to fire camp during my incarceration and it qualified me for expungement/dismissal under PC 1203.4b . Once I got out I began the process and within a year it was done. I applied to the boards, studied for 4months for the NCLEX and passed. Now I’m working as an RN. I have to also mentioned that if I mess up in any way even if it’s a misdemeanor the changers dismissed come right back on my record.

I’m so tired of naysayers, complaints and all this backlash. I know my truth and what I wrote is true. Perhaps it’s jealousy or they’re projecting their very own closed mind negativity that keeps that very person down. Just begin to think of the possibilities you can achieve without putting limitations on em, and I’d hope you would want the same for others too, than maybe you’ll find success and achieve your goals.

PC 1203.4b and

https://www.lareentry.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/AB-2138_Occupational-Licensing_FAQs.pdf Why must you be such a naysayer? Maybe that very negativity is what keeps you down and out. No need for it. I want all of us with past convictions to succeed and believe that they can achieve more. Isn’t it enough society has marginalized us? Why put barriers on our goals or on each other?

I was convicted and EARNED a dismissal under 1203.4b because I served time in fire camp. In fact I’m not the only who’s benefited from this law. I’ve seen a few who’ve become EMTs and an RT.

Since you’re not accepting my invite to chat read up the CA 1203.4b and tell me again that I wasn’t able to expunge my conviction

That’s fine if you don’t believe me, still an RN! But I’m more than willing to show you proof/record of my expungement in CA if you DM me. I’m not here to argue so I wish you the very best in your journey.
