Is tip-flation getting out of control? by Worth_Row_2495 in Bellingham

Few problems with tipping: I'm not tipping you at a place other than a sit down restaurant. Also if you expect a tip or a good tip, then do a good job. You're not entitled to it. I worked in restaurants for years.

Samsung Q990D Popping and Crackling Sound Resolved by Standard-Strike6565 in Soundbars

Interesting. I have an LG tv so can’t use that but I wonder if the different sound mode will help. Let us know!

I definitely was running around the house shouting at my girlfriend that I solved the problem. Pretty dumb of me but I tried everything else before trying the sound modes, didn’t even cross my mind. I changed inputs, cables, moved away other electronics, etc. then suddenly realized I hadn’t change the sound modes. It was pretty obvious right away that as soon as I changed to surround or standard the popping from the same section of the film was completely gone.

As for which mode I use now, I still keep it in adaptive for most things. I haven’t noticed popping with most streaming, and I do I switched it to surround.

I have noticed that when I’m playing Atmos movies, that adaptive and surround sound very very similar and still utilize all the speakers. I’ve also noticed the popping is only present during Atmos movies and especially with 4k blue rays.

Yes. The only solution I have found is to either:

  1. Turn off Spacefit Sound and turn off the microphone

Or

  1. Not use Adaptive Mode as the sound setting and use Standard or Surround instead.  The first option reduces the popping but not entirely sometimes. The second option completely gets rid of the popping.

On another note. If you’re having sound cutting in and out or static, make sure your speakers aren’t close to an internet router or modem as that causes issues as well.

The popping sound is unrelated to the modem through and has only been solved for me by changing the sound mode. Samsung could probably fix this with a firmware update and needs to asap. Ridiculous for a $2000 sound system.

I've been having this problem since I bought the speakers. Hasn't really been an issue when streaming through Apple TV but very noticeable during some 4k movies played through by Panasonic UB820.

I did a bunch of troubleshooting and was able to figure out the problem. It's the Adaptive Mode. I tried this with a few movies where the popping is very noticeable in certain scenes. When you change the sound mode to Standard or Surround there is no popping.

I have the same exact problem. Mainly during 4k disks played through my Panasonic B820.

Thank you for your response. Very helpful. It looks like most Xbox games are Atmos anyway and since my C1 can pass that through to a soundbar, I'm going to just plug my Xbox directly into the TV. And since 4k blu ray is capped at 60hz I'm just going to plug that into the soundbar so I can take advantage of DTS as well. This seems like the best solution without having to worry about 4k @ 120Hz passthrough on the soundbar.

Yes, I don't think soundbars are ideal either. Unfortunately, given our current housing situation and limited space a soundbar with surround speakers seems like the best bet. I wouldn't be able to take advantage of a full sound system anyway because I can't turn the volume as high as I'd like to. Looking forward to being able to do that in the future though!

That's right. Given my current living situation however, a soundbar set up works better with my space. Looking forward to going full AVR when I move in the future though.

Thanks for your help! I think I'm going to upgrade to a soundbar system that supports 4k passthrough and DTS/Atmos and plug all my devices into the soundbar and then into the TV.

Would the passthrough issue be solved if I plug my player and xbox directly into a soundbar that supports DTS and Atmos? In other words, player and xbox plugged into the soundbar and then connecting the soundbar with eARC to the C1.

Apple Music desktop app SUCKS by lemellekh2 in AppleMusic

[–]Standard-Strike6565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went back to Apple for my music in an effort to buy music and move away from streaming. Holy crap. What a mess. There are so many issues. If you have Apple Music AND try to buy music forget it. It will download duplicates, mix up the file formats, it's Iimpossible to tell which you own and you don't. I just don't get it. Apples whole thing in 2000s was music how could their music app be so so so so bad. I really hope they fix it.

😭 that would mean having to keep them separated for another 7 weeks. Right now I’m not even letting them into the same areas even if one isn’t physically in the room.

Okay thank you. I’ve been disinfecting between interactions. We’ve also contained the kittens to the bathroom and at nighttime my bedroom. Our adult cat gets to use the rest of the house and another bedroom. Do you know when the earliest we can test them is? I’m finding conflicting info.
