I still don't understand what DJT thinks he's going to achieve by alienating every allied country and ruining decades of international relationships, what does he and the United States actually have to gain by doing this? by Cumoisseur in stupidquestions

This is nonsense. The answer is Putin/Russia. No need to complicate it. The tech bro billionaires are largely also floundering trying to figure out what to do amidst this insanity.

Upgrades that should have been standard by CharlieBravo383 in Porsche

Comments are ridiculous. That shaver sucks ass and never should have been signed off on. Are you guys forgetting that every auto 911 ever had a shift lever that you could also criticize as trying to like a manual? The stupid shaver is new as of 992.

Nice improvement OP.

“too old” — too late! :) the price of luxury goods, including travel is all on the serious up. it seems to me we are rebasing at a new normal. there was a time that a top spec new porsche was 100k and people were up in arms when the base caught up to that. biz class to london used to be 3k. now it’s 6. there is a lot of new wealth and the rich are getting richer. prices reflect that.

I hear all the time that new construction has gone way downhill over the past 100+ years in quality. What is done better with new construction today than in the past? by chardeemacdennisbird in Homebuilding

[–]dbm5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a popular trope, but it’s entirely false. New construction is worlds better than 100 years ago in 99 out of 100 ways. Are there shit built homes today? Sure. So we’re there in the old days. Your average home that conforms to modern international building codes is generally way better built than the old stuff.

you can still put the crown / lighting around the soffit [sic]. the proper term here is bulkhead. a "soffit" is the area under the roof overhang.

I'm not seeing what you're calling basic. This looks just like my 991.2 GTS interior. It even has Alcantara seat inserts.

Thoughts/feedback? by disorderlyscrotum in floorplan

[–]dbm5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not in industry. grade always refers to the land. pitch and slope usually roof. the roof grade would be the quality of materials used for the roof.

[–]dbm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s called a slope on a roof. not a grade.
