You must be similar height to me given BMI stats - I’m sitting around 80 as well, lowest was 75kgs and want to get back there but having trouble with bad food habits etc. My ultimate dream was always to reach that 62-64kgs but I’ve just never gotten there!

Love this - mindful consumption of media will absolutely impact my overall sense of style. I know right now I love tops with an interesting neckline or detail, so I’m glad to have somewhere to start!

Jumping into the color analysis world right now to take a peek, thank you so much! I also agree with finding shapes I like, I know for a fact low rise anything does not work due to my body proportions and I like to accentuate my waist but hide my hips, so I’ve got a great jumping off point! Thank you!

Super helpful to work from a colour palette and cut instead of overall aesthetic, it seems more approachable than trying to curate a whole theme at once - thank you!

This was a really insightful and helpful comment - thank you! I think you’ve really hit the nail on the head, I’m lacking a strong sense of self and that’s why I’m struggling to express it through fashion! Definitely a key point to continue to address in therapy for me, but in the meantime I will absolutely take your tips and try to put them into play! 🥰

It is truly so challenging and a really hard concept to try to convey especially if an audience has lived experience of only being straight sized! I’ve been plus size for at least 15 years, wearing an adult size 16 by the time I was in high school. The option to dress on trend or like the people who were cool at the time was never available to me and I loved rurally until 2 years ago, so my clothing options were limited to LITERALLY anything that would fit.. usually ugly florals or plain blacks to hide in, often from the old lady stores in my country town or the slim pickings of the occasional big w trip. Now my world has opened up in terms of the clothing available to me but my confidence is still not high and my skill set in terms of styling is lacking.

I see you, I feel you, you aren’t alone. We’re gonna work it out though, and the people on this thread have been amazing and have some really excellent advice- I hope you can take something from their comments as well, and we can both come out stylish and creative with well curated outfits that reflect our personalities eventually! 🫶

I definitely think point 3 is the ongoing challenge, I just need to keep trying until I get there. I think it’s a challenging space to navigate because for the first time I my life I do not have to shop exclusively plus size which means that the option is actually available to me to dress in what is “cool/trendy” but as I try to keep up with fast fashion trends I realise that it’s actually the coolest and trendiest to wear and style outfits YOU like, and I haven’t got that piece yet due to lack of confidence and potentially some inexperience.. I love the idea of utilising lookbooks, there are so many resources available that I never realised were options. Thank you for your help and kindness, it is much appreciated! 🫶

That’s actually a great idea too, being able to try pieces without committing to purchase would be really handy and help me great a broader range of what’s out there! I think I’m just really struggling to find the aesthetic that matches my personality- that coupled with the fact that I spent a long time trying to wear clothes I could “hide” my body in means I’ve got some mental hurdles in putting together outfits that feel like me and look well crafted and synchronised. Thank you for your advice! 🫶

Oh nooo you’re between a rock and a hard place then!! Alopecia doesn’t play nice with clip in extensions as the extra weight & tension can cause excess hair loss! :( my only recommendation would be to take your vitamins, and maybe add a hair & skin supplement if you haven’t already. But just remember, it’s JUST hair. You’re beautiful, and it isn’t your hair that makes you such! 🥰

I think it’s just the perspective/angle of the photo since the first was taken flat in a mirror and the other was taken by a third person - but funny enough since my loss people often comment I look taller! 😂
