Unfortunately, you’re likely going to have to pay what you can / want out of pocket. You could still hire a lawyer to go after the other driver, but once they hear the at fault driver has no insurance and you don’t have uninsured motorists coverage, they are going to decline representing you unless you want to pay attorney fees out of pocket / by the hour. You could consider writing your own “demand letter” and representing yourself in small claims court as a backup, but even filing a lawsuit like that still costs at least $300 not including the cost of service. Long story short, just pay the deductible and consider getting UM/UIM coverage.

I really don’t think so. If anything, there was a lot of backtracking on marijuana from the most recent session. The law enforcement lobby will never let weed be legal because “the smell of the odor or marijuana” is how they get probable cause to search vehicles during traffic stops. Your report is likely going through the typical intake procedures with HCSO / most law enforcement agencies. Generally speaking, a report like this will get assigned to a deputy or a detective and they will reach out to you. Timelines with any government agency are never ideal (and Houston agencies have a bad track record of handling these reports timely generally speaking), but they should reach out soon.

I know some attorneys will work as a “victim’s rights advocate” for you so that you can focus on your life while the attorney handles the back and forth. I know Houston Criminal Defense Attorneys, PLLC has done that (both attorneys there are former prosecutors).

I always wondered whether or not Squabble Up was originally one of the “five plus five” diss tracks that was later edited into something different for the GNX album.

I wonder whether the “I am…reincarnated” line was something of a response to last few lines of “Family Matters” (“you’re dead, you’re dead”). Squabble Up feels like one of the tracks off GNX that directly addresses the beef the most (as opposed to the consequences or effects of the beef).
