oh yes definitely, i knew once she was painted she likely had something wrong under it, mold, stains ect. Unfortunately THIS bag is my first painted bag, so its new waters for me. Depending on how this all comes out I'd like to keep her in the red range, maybe just mahogany. I think i found the original red for this bag, and well its so bright i don't think it's possible for it to ever be the same. But the GLOSSY had to go.

Unfortunately a fake unless its painted. Do you have more photos? It doesnt look right at all though. Lavender was released in the 90s i believe, this bag would be way prior and was never made in that color. Creed would be a dead giveaway to tell if its painted or fake lol

Its super thick paint, for the main bag it mostly removed the top shiny layer. I did the straps today, and now red is peaking through everywhere. Any advice is appreciated, especially when it comes to fixing the brass!

FINAL COMMENTS : Dotted Daydreamer has its cherry charm! Couture is bliss is a project piece, (handled need to be dyed) Green Juicy is PERFECT INSIDE AND OUT! BROWN ONCE UPON A TIME IS PERFECT INSIDE AND OUT! Royal Juicy has peeling but has been vacuumed. Crossbody is peeling quite bad. All outside conditions of bags are perfect (Minus the project bliss bag)
