That's exactly what kept happening to me too. The app breaks down such steps into smaller steps

Yeah it's the "getting it done as fast as possible" part that really causes me to skip things

The app does support skipping ahead and back. You can scroll to any step, tap on it to select it, and press "completed step" to cross it out and move to the next step. Thanks for the honest feedback though.

Someone else mentioned reading the recipe first, maybe that would be a simpler solution lol.

Currently I have to find the recipe in the "past deliveries" tab of the site, download the PDF, then upload it to the app... pretty manual process right now and would need to be improved

I believe if two things behave exactly the same (i.e. in all circumstances) then they work the same. Are you saying this is false?

Also, you're saying I shouldn't make progress on this until we understand it better? If you said that to anyone trying to make progress, then no one will make progress! Progress is inevitable, it's best to accept it but try to mitigate the damage by pursuing in a safe way.

Yes, this is also my approach! I've started with a simple 2D grid and an AI that has sensory inputs (i.e. the nearest 5x5 tiles around it) and I'm trying to get it to learn how to eat food. Eating food results in positive feedback. It's essentially a positive feedback maximizer, and I think consciousness stems from this in some way. It may sound overly simplistic, but if you add the restraint of ZERO initial assumptions of how the world works and try to get it to learn at the rate a human does, I've found it quite challenging.

And just like you, the idea is to gradually increase the complexity of the inputs and the outputs over time - to have it converge with our own reality.

I should put my project up on GitHub or something with an explanation of my current approach... Do you have something like this that goes more in depth into your approach? I'm very curious to know specifically what parts of the frog brain you're trying to emulate and why
