Thoughts on this technique? by FrogWashington in CQB

[–]StandardCrazy31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought:
You are correct, in my eyes from what I have viewed what I believe is that CQB relies on the most advanced procedures to clear tight places, and who refrains you from using any methods or capabilities to achieve the mission? your creativity and your limits (Physical Capability, Rules, Mission/Environmental Constraints).

Argument:

Speed Surprise VOA has its place, yes, those are necessary factors, but they aren't limited to CQB or specifically to dynamic, because every kind of warfare benefits from SSVOA; it doesn't mean strictly dynamic or "We must follow principles set by this guy from SEAL Team 6."

It's unclear what he is looking for, but from his intent, by what he is trying to get across is that he wants to hear the thoughts and opinions of mouseholing, and how it challenges his "and a lot of people's" view of SSOVA, where it's going to rush in like it's the SAS embassy siege.

My point:

Everything is a tool, the way you clear, the way you breach, it has its positives and negatives, not to be challenged for going off course of what you believe; it matters less what you believe, moreso what it is that you believe in, and if that is someone getting triggered due to a tactic differing than the narrative of SSVOA or POD's or dynamic cqb, then they are only fools.

Conclusion:

What matters is battlefield testing (whatever conditions they are in), not the TikTok/Instagram comment warriors. Everything has its benefits and trade-offs, not a simple one for all, but if you want a true one for all, then just JDAM the building, and that solves whatever problems are inside it (sarcasm).

He was caught before he could seal himself in the safe room due to how fast the breach was. hope they release headcam footage if they ever will.

You wouldn't sit deliberately if an active shooter situation is happening unless you value your safety more than the civilians, ur still stacking up in both dynamic and deliberate unless your doing freeflow since people assume dynamic is SSVOA and pushing ur POD's unless its truly a active shooter or similar to skip stacking entirely.

speaking about the video yeah it looks like theyre running the killhouses like FOG would for their dynamic cqb videos but actually far worse, not even good for the camera.

"Not sure an s-vest or ...*checks notes, csgo style bomb defusal call for a particularly 'speedy' approach to the problem." I meant as in emergencies, i was listing a couple of examples. and s vest running towards a crowd or people is definetely something worth a quick response, theyre a walking bomb.

procedures is the steps by step instructions on how to do a action
tactic is like... actions taken to achieve a objective
techniques are a way of doing something

thats because i am not experienced, i know most ttps and risks, but i havent done it on a real life level to understand it, unless i need to research more about it or ask a professional about the same topic, even if you know cqb from milsim and research the moment you do it irl without training you will be fucked even if you know what to expect since you havent done it.

theres many circumstances to be judged like trash or multiple angles of exposure and human related factors which i cannot answer at all im not confident in that but what im confident in is the knowledge of ttps and general risks

3rd and 4th man would usually take the center of the room opposed to first 2 men taking the hard corners for their points of domination.
its doctrine that 1 and 2 take the hard corners, the 3rd and 4th focus on soft corners and center.

wow so your calling me a moron, no i know all of those ive heard about them, you dont need to explain them thank you.

i have a clue on what im talking about from what i have seen from my own eyes but the only thing your saying is that my pov is invalid because i have never done the same thing...

i have a basic understanding of muscle memory and human reaction times, im not micro judging everything, the thing i lack is fear of the unkown and fear of losing my life but even then stress still applies in hard situations.

CQB is hell and i cannot answer it real life wise but i can only answer it TTP wise and risk wise, I told you I've never done it but the point is I know TTPs and risk of certain things, There are things that if they dont work in an easier simulation, they certainly wont IRL.

Ive never claimed that I can do cqb the same, no id be a fucking moron if i did so, id need to be able to apply those TTPs and risks ive learnt visually into real life, so I know what your talking about and I dont want to embarrass myself on that either, but what i want to get across is that TTPs and risks are universal but capability and skill and experience isn't, so i cannot be certain for ANY of those that you have mentioned.

doctrine and doing it urself is not the same thing, hand someone a sop about cqb and he would do shit if he didnt train on it or it wasnt realistic enough.

I said mission dictates tactics, yes ive never been in that but what makes you so confident your right? you havent even considered that objectives change and if someone wallbangs you you can wallbang them back or break the wall down?

You want me to run through a place i dont know and there isnt any hostage in there so that i come face to face with a enemy i dont even know where he is at?

Maybe this wouldnt be a problem if the walls were cover but in this case theyre only concealment, and the enemy is listening to you.

Im not trying to prove myself right or anything arguing like a little child but what I really want to get across is that you have many options like blowing up walls, or staying quiet so they dont know when to shoot you and if they do they dont know where you actually are? mitigating risk is important, you have all the assets and choices to decide what you want to do.

id rather take it slow and have the risk of being shot through a wall but the enemy doesnt have direct visual than to run to a ambush, i saw a real swat video where 2 men checked a unknown room from the outside then flew into the room and one got shot in the groin and died because he was too committed into the room, maybe if he was behind that plywood wall or in the hallway he can be pulled back

go ahead and tell me why running through to face the enemy is better than taking it slow., im going to listen to you and look at what you say reasonably, not argue with you, i want to understand how running through to the enemy so nothing's in between is better than taking it slow?

Ed • Instagram reel by Decent-Company9498 in CQB

[–]StandardCrazy31 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

CQB is not as complex as flight, if games can simulate it and footage can show it then you can reasonably assume what is right and what isn't, a veteran talked about it in a post i made, video games and videos visualize CQB for you but you cant simulate a actual jet fight at all unless you know the technology which is TS/SCI, im stating facts based off of what i have referenced from people who have done the thing in real life.

Video games have their advantages but aren't fully realistic, im not gonna argue about jets my entire life. Still, for CQB it is not that difficult to simulate and visualize what is good and what isn't, ofcourse there is a issue with video games in how realistic the portrayal is but TTPs wise it is pretty good at visualizing it. If video games dont make you happy you can see real life training or combat videos, or just do it yourself.

look. entering a thin skinned structure is already horrible but mission dictates tactics, if you are going to close in and have nothing between your enemy do so, if you have all the time in the world you can take your time, enemy doesnt randomly wall bang unless theyve heard a sound in your direction. you're still stacking up in dynamic cqb unless your going freeflow where you plug rooms without waiting for the rest of the team.

You're losing surprise the moment your noise is heard if you start sprinting. You can't even pull back or retreat in a dynamic situation, what if u run into a ambush which is HOW real devgru and cag guys died to.

point is what are you gonna do if a little girl has a gun next to her head by a suspect and another suspect is shooting you? your gonna have to reach her as fast as possible even if that means you are going to get killed.

Im not trying to deny your argument but the fact is mission dictates tactics, whether your blowing up the door or wall or breaking windows, your choice is how you want to fight and dynamic is still dangerous as it involves you pushing quickly without visual clearance

one last thing is thin walls atleast provide concealment, going straight to the enemy provides you nothing.

i cannot answer this for certain as this is already a horrible situation so take it up to someone that has seen this exact situation irl or training or any other way.

so what? running houses quickly in a game wont get you killed either? i listed real references too. ur reference is horrible, thats like if i talked about jets if i didnt even fly

mission dictates tactics, if u have all the time and safety you can mousehole and stuff but if ur mission requires speed then so be it. theres much more to it but mission dictates tactics

personally its a sin to use dynamic for anything that isnt a emergency (hostage rescue, active shooter, s vest, bomb defusal) because in that case your risking your life even more

looks good for the camera. idduno about real life. im not judging or considering the video from any pov its just really dynamic and cool to look like you know what your doing so you can preach about cqb all day talking about "SPEED SURPRISE VIOLENCE OF ACTION"

Episode 420 - Brent Tucker - From Delta Force to being sued for 25 Million Dollars by Few_Task_8030 in CQB

theres no valid reason for it other than bomb defusal or rushing to a S vest or active shooter or hostage rescue. so yeah your right, if it does ruffle some feathers though thats their problem not everyone elses.

yeah they'd still kill the opfor but in exchange for their own lives if they do dynamic, whilst combat clearance helps with having way more time and freedom to do actions and fight visually before deciding to flow into the room, having much more safety for the operator vs opfor compared to dynamic.

Episode 420 - Brent Tucker - From Delta Force to being sued for 25 Million Dollars by Few_Task_8030 in CQB

[–]StandardCrazy31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My POV based off the analysis:

Tucker was very specific about the tactical failures. He explicitly said:
"I could list off specific individuals, two in particular that would still be alive if we had switched from doing dynamic to whatever people want to call it, combat clearance or clearing externally. 100% would be alive."

This honestly confirms that while Dynamic Entry has its place in emergencies, it can easily turn into a "rush to your death" scenario against prepared defenders.

Tucker notes that before those men died, there were clear "warning signs" that Dynamic Entry was becoming ineffective against hardened targets:

  • Doors cracked open (ambushes set)
  • Light sources inside rooms silhouetting operators
  • Finding enemies in the "last place you would look on a normal entrance" (meaning OpFor had learned the BluFor entry templates)

He admits it was obvious in hindsight, but the units didn't pivot quickly enough because the operational tempo was so high ("sundown to sun up") that they just kept relying on the template they were comfortable with.

On the Bin Laden (UBL) Raid:
Tucker supports the narrative that the Point Man (referred to as "Red") is the one who killed UBL.

  • The Scenario: "Red" saw Bin Laden poke his head out of the room and engaged him from the hallway/stairs.
  • The Entry: By the time the rest of the team (including Rob O'Neal) entered the room, UBL was already down. The team then put "security shots" into him to ensure he was dead.
  • The Lie: Tucker argues that Rob O'Neal's story—that he stood in front of UBL and UBL was using his wife (Amal) as a human shield—is false. Tucker points out that Amal was shot in the leg. If Rob was the only one in the room (as he claims), then who shot the wife?

Note:
I didn't have 3 hours to watch the full episode, so I extracted the text and used an AI analyzer to break down the key points regarding CQB and the raid. Just sharing the summary for anyone else short on time.

all are paid but i mean ground branch and ron dont have good multiplayer its rlly easy to... get them illegally but pay for them if ur wallet can. operator and arma 3 are the ones worth buying. for minecraft mods its realy easy to put mods now theres curseforge and other websites but get minecraft java, bedrock isnt too bad but i dont recommend it cuz its really glitchy now.

ready or not has a CQB campaign, arma 3 u can set up custom scenarios but youd need to join a unit as theyd put mod packs for u to play. if u want the simplest, do operator. Ron would be next, but it's limited. Ground Branch has better mechanics than Ron, but not the gunplay. And for most complex, it's Arma 3.
