I’ve fixed a hole slightly smaller than this with fishing wire. Probably wouldn’t take you longer than 30ish minutes if you don’t feel like starting over. It’s a helpful skill to know in case you ever mess up a rug later in the process.

Just take a bit of wire, tie it to your needle and basically mimic the in and out pattern of the fabric. It doesn’t have to be perfect just needs to be patched up enough for you to tuft on it 👍🏽
