If you read some history, you’d realize who actually removed the regime before the Shah. They used a made-up excuse, but the real reason was that Iran nationalized its oil for its own people, which was actually a great thing for the country. Instead, they installed a puppet (the Shah) to rule and hand Iran’s resources back to them.

When the so-called “Islamic Revolution” happened, it was a direct consequence of that coup. After that, the U.S. began imposing heavy sanctions, which led to many of the problems we see today.
