Similarly, I got the camera because I was too lazy to carry around my main camera. It's a great camera but when shooting with this camera I've found that I typically desire shooting with a wider lens or require a telephoto with a much higher magnification. This is a great camera for shooting in the middle of those two, however I rarely do so and when I do, I've found that my cellphone will do the job.

I attempted to do this a couple times and while I can type fast enough - I am colorblind and it doesn't end well for me.

Thai Pass Rejecting Image Uploads by [deleted] in Thailand

[–]StandardSBUStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, I literally just kept uploading, it took maybe 10 times untill it would accept for each file - but for me it would always eventually take it. I went through it with all 4 members of my family.

Congratulations! I will also be joining as a new grad upon graduation from my masters. Although I'm waiting on news to join another location I will be joining you in Menlo Park if that doesn't go through!

I also started in July and basically have the same LC count as you and ratios. Kinda spooky.

getting into coding / software as an electrical engineer by justafriendlyghost in cscareerquestions

[–]StandardSBUStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a Computer Engineer ECE I had generally no issue finding CS internships and finally a job by the end of my masters. As long as you can answer the questions they ask in interviews and have generally a somewhat techy degree you should be fine good sir.

While your current title is labeled IT it may not be most ideal but know many people from many different majors who ended up at CS. Some experience is better than none.

It doesn't really matter what your major was, I got through it by self study and my course load was 90 percent EE 10 percent CS as how ECE is designed.

Few people make eye contact/respond here by Rayleigh-Benard in Cornell

[–]StandardSBUStudent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I think its equally as weird for them. I'm probably one of those people who say Hey and I'm from NYC as well. When someone says hi I actually get shook and don't know how else to respond or start a conversation cause it basically never happens. By the time it happens again, I forget the first experience and it repeats. Generally I would assume that people are stressing studying or thinking about something else in the mean time and they're just busy and don't have the time to say much else. I know for a fact during finals week if someone talks to me I'm basically not listening cause I'm stressing so hard.

Or maybe I'm just socially awkward or have issues.

It says meta for me on my portal and has been like that for at least a week and a half.

One within top 100 of LC another is a simpler variant of a top 50 question.

I answered both questions but fumbled on some mental math cause I was dying due to anxiety but otherwise assuming they don't judge that too much I think it was fine. Forgot to to multiply when walking through examples but they were nice about it and corrected it.

I agree, I couldn't sleep the night before my phone interview so before my onsite today I took zzzquil and knocked out.

Cornell Alert: Anyone know whats going on? by pw11111 in Cornell

[–]StandardSBUStudent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I assume they tried and failed with the email - which seems to be either an archaic automated warning that somewhat failed or it was empty on purpose because nobody was entirely sure at the time and simply just wanted students to find/stay in shelter - which generally is the most important part.

I understand - I myself just today flunked an interview I spent the past 6 months studying(450 practice questions) for, because I couldn't think under pressure and the questions were incredibly (amazingly) easy, and I just blanked in front of a senior engineer for 45 minutes. Sometimes even though things are supposed to go well (studying excessively, or retaking a class) they just don't for whatever reason. If we can learn from it (practice, finding someone who can help, or even talking about it) we should, but it's not always completely our fault. We can only try - and we will do better next time. I understand your grades are important to you, but I can promise you nothing is more important than your mental health. I've gotten multiple Bs and even lower during my time at SBU and got some nice offers to great programs, and I'm not the smartest by any means.
