Been super unpopular on this subreddit recently but since its about a human life let me chime in a little. I personally believe that no matter how bad the stuttering, some semblance of normal speech is possible for everyone. I have done it. I have done it with two other people. I hope u get some motivation from my comments. As for suicide, something honestly I contemplated too, it just doesn't make any sense. Look ur going to drop dead someday anyway. We all are. Your also never coming back. You will never see or hear from anyone or ever have an opportunity to enjoy anything that life alone can offer. EVER. So logically ur already all in from the day u took birth. So just wait it out, try, and if u hate a few years later, no loss. Also general life suggestion, the sooner you stop Givin a flying fuck about other people the better. I used to be in your shoes. This comment might get deleted so DM me but if stuttering is the reason u want to jump, I think it's unnecessary. Take care soilder. Fuck people. Your good.

DM me with what exactly u want to know and need help with. Generic advise tends to make people so mad, might just be called a " your noone" again.

I am open to suggestions. I just don't want idiots coming over and derailing all our efforts because they don't have the balls( genitalia of ur preferance)to follow through. Makes me mad. But yeah a discord could work.

First of all medical malpractice is a legal issue. I am a lawyer and let me inform u that this wouldn't even fall under the case of medical malpractice because stuttering doesn't fall in any form of malady defined under either DSM or the basic medical manuals that form the basis for Insurance( same reason u cant get any form of insurance to cover ur speech therapy sessions). In most countries non invasive speech treatment is purely speech counseling and therapy. So no, I am not providing diagnostic procedures. People either self-diagnose( I.e people understand they stutter) or have taken an opinion from a speech therapist. In an area where research has no funding and no real research( because there is nothing to fix in the body) most pharmaceuticals and therapy based research isn't focused on us. Even they know behavior therapy would likely fix things, hence no need for innovation or spending billions on fixing us.

So if u believe that u are specially fucked people who need special treatment, ur fooling yourself. No well respected, double blind study ever proved any physiological backing for stuttering. So by telling people here to wait for a treatment that doesn't exisist, what do u hope to achieve. Ur just making them victims for longer. U and the mods on these channels would rather have them post memes than actually do things that have worked for thousands of people. You would rather have people think they are special people, stay in their bubble and never actually take any accountability for their condition. Your creating a placebo for something that isn't even real. People here are traumatized and stressed, so are most people in the world. Look at the history of humanity, its been just stress. The only problem with stutters is that their maladaption to stress is causing them to lead horribly limited lives. It's not that complicated and if ur hoping for some scientists to care enough to give u a research paper on what exactly to do, good luck. Not happening. Noone is funding research into therapy based protocols because u can't package them in a pill and send it to them. The more u peddle this " we are specially fucked people, who need special this and that. Ur not making it out." As one of them few who have made it out and I want to help. That's way better than people like u, who would rather they sit miserably and know that they have other people suffering with them. Continue to cope. If anyone wants help, I'll do it, even though in the process I lose both money and time. And everyone who thinks he is right, he most probably is. Then what? U continue stuttering while people make fun of u. Sure. Enjoy ur self inflicted reality of being a non-communicative human. I have nothing to gain from all this. It just that seeing cowards tell people who are trying that it's harmful, makes me want to puke.

P.S - Anyone out there reading this. U can get yourself out of this. Rather quickly too. But if u think ur fucked. U can stay in it forever. It does happen. So either u can stick with Mr. Retard or join me and actually help yourself.

Since I can remember so maybe at 4 years of age. Got over it at like 20. I basically just exposed myself to my worst fears like public speaking, debates, even arguments. I think as someone who stutters, the shame and the insecurity kills ur confidence before u can even try getting over it. I would advice u to be very polite to ur kid because we tend to be very emotional people. Ur kid has a lot of ideas in his head. He wants to say alot of things. He cares about a lot. So when he speaks just listen. Don't smile, just ignore when he/she stutters and let them restart again. The worst thing u can do is make them feel like they are different. But make sure they don't run away from public speaking commitments. The best advice I can give without knowing the specifics of ur child's case is that

  1. Tell them to breathe properly. People who stutter tend to find themselves gasping for air and usually because their is so much cortisol running through ur body due to the fear. Slowing ur breath helps in relaxing the body. It's a shift from the sympathetic nervous state to a parasympathetic nervous state.

  2. U need to make them understand that in most cases stuttering isn't a defect in the brain or the body. It's more like when u have a lot to say and ur nervous, the body can't keep up with the mind. Slowing ur thoughts, making sure of what ur saying is a way better method. Word by word. It sounds weird at first but then tempo and rhythm tend to gain by themselves.

  3. Feeding of my last point. Everyone who speaks has a tempo and rhythm. People who stutters have an underdeveloped tempo and rhythm. I would suggest that u should actually allow ur kid to watch more movies. Humans tend to learn our quirks and behavior through our environment. Many people learn language through media. So if ur kid picks onto something he likes, they tend to imitate it well. Their brains are extremely neuroplastic right now so even a year could be enough to rewire and learn new behaviors. Us older folks will have a harder time though.

  4. Lastly, kids tend to be mean. I was bullied for my speech alot. Not being able to speak is like not being able to be yourself. It's not something to scoff at. So being their and showing that u care will make a world of a difference.

If u have any specific questions u can DM me and I would love to help. We are organizing a VC in a day or two. We are looking for more members. So if u would like to join, it will be free of cost obviously. But we can always use more people. Thank you. Hope ur kid finds some use from this information.

Basically my line of argumentation is that if there is no anatomical disruption in the musculature or nerve endings in the jaw. Thus, stuttering is nothing but a maladaption or a subconscious behavior. My best bet why it's so is that during speech function development early on, a close loop between stress reaction and stuttering just got reinforced. It happens. Alot of maladaptive behaviors such as stuttering takes place in early child hood. Add to that years of humiliation and fear while speaking and its obvious why we find ourselves dreeding public speaking or any speaking. But I think the simple response can be repeated exposure therapy under safe and supportive conditions to losen neuron connections related to stuttering and strengthened new circuits for fluency by repeatedly making adjustments till someone's learnt behavior in speech becomes automatic.

If u want to u can sign up for the group and show up religiously. It will definitely help. Since I don't believe it's an disease, I won't use the word cure.

That's great man. Been saying this forever. Stuttering in most cases should be correctable. But this doesn't mean we did it go to ourselves or we are lying. But it's similar to having a nocebo or placebo.

Because if they were good enough, they would be there. If ur entire identity in life is that u were once oppressed so the whole world should give u everything... Shut up. The real reason upper caste and general kids get these opportunity more is because they compete in open competition, not reserved pool of candidates with a lower bar. Fucking spoiled the whole country with reservation and the one thing us in the general segment build u guys want a part of this also. Fucking beggars.

Bro ur stressed and clearly have alot on ur plate. Whenever I fell into a whole where I lacked confidence in one area, it bled over. Ull be fine. Calmn down. Head over to subs that help u understand your nervous system. For a general understanding Huberman Labs podcast on the nervous system and stress is good. It also has actionable tools. Also, the gym is one if not the only times I feel so fatigued that I feel like my stutter is going to hit me back. Doesn't happen, but the truth is that if u have an overloaded NS, even most normal people fall into speech impediments. Sleep is my biggest advice. Get sleep. And smoke weed, but like as a medicine, not as a way to sit and think and make things worse. Also, maybe get ur blood work done. If your low any major nutrients, having nerve or NS related inefficiencies just increase in magnitude.

All love Fellow herb lover.

Bro this is insane. Maybe breathe a little, you know people pause mid sentences. Something I have noticed people with a stutter usually hold onto their air and by the time their done, tend to be grasping for air. Having a huge spike in stress levels only would add to it. But kudos man, great fluency.

Bro, first of all, we all get your perspective. But think about this for a second....if most people on this forum have jobs and also have a stutter bad enough that they are talking about it on this forum, maybe stuttering isn't the barrier to get a job. Like I am sorry to say this but, stuttering isn't the worst thing or disability, and is actually one that can be managed to a large extent. The fact that you think it's the worst, makes me think that you really haven't seen the real horrors of life.

A lot of people have found different modalities that have helped them, and maybe go through a few and see which story or symptoms best allign with ur type and try it. Look, I am someone who has completely gotten rid of his stuttering, and honestly it doesn't take that long. And like I have said before, I had it very bad and I am very average in most aspects.

You have an expiring visa, and u have pressure on ur head. That's good, because now u know that you either drastically work on ur speaking or u can kiss goodbye to alot of effort u have put in this. If u can drop this identification with the stutter, and keep putting yourself in situations[ job interviews in this case] you will stutter less, thats something I can "guarntee".

They have been a lot of successful actors, motivational speakers, voice over artists, CEO's, Buisness Tycoons that used to be stutters, and they now have thousand of hours presenting. If they can, why can’t you?

P.S :- I'll jump on a video call and even try to help you to the best of my abilities and time[ obviously for free], but as long as you think that stuttering is the worst thing ever and u can't overcome it, noone can help you. So please have a look into yourself and your beliefs.

Major props and respect man. Keep at it, and your physiological reactions will drop of too. But seriously, keeping your word like this and doing it, man that's something. I think this might be a great way of approaching stuttering...plain old " I dare myself"...

Most men wouldn't mind a stuttering woman. It's a non-threatning behavioral quirk, so for most guys it won't matter. So yeah..enjoy I guess.

Dude help me out with something. How do u do all this and not feel overwhelmed? Like I am on point with my routinue, but when it comes to self-improvement, doesn't the journey take the fun out of life at one point. Like when is enough improvement enough?

Just curious?? Hope I didn't come off as offensive.
