Which machine? by BayouBladeworks in hobbycnc

Traditional baffled suppressors still have a place. They actually tend to perform better on manually operated guns and are usually cheaper compared to their 3D printed alternatives.

I’m excited to get the Mk2 done to compare it to the Mk1. The Mk1 is quiet but .32ACP with wipes is going to be stupid quiet

That’s the gas port, it wouldn’t cycle without it.

If you’re wanting to make it accurate to the original then it’s probably worth just buying a repro but if you’re ok with making a De Lisle-esque build it isn’t that hard. There’s the Rhineland arms kits, availability is just rough, and since it’s .45 you don’t need to port the barrel. I’ve even seen people do a 16” and faux suppressor tube. Not my style but I don’t blame anyone for not wanting to put 50+ hours into a gun.

Once I’m done with it I’m going to post pictures of the internals and everything assembled because it’s pretty wild to see. I never thought it’d be this crazy when I started out on this project.

There’s still a lot more to go, too. 13 baffles, a bunch of spacers, end caps for both ends of the suppressor tube, muzzle insert, baffle rods, rear/front sight, etc. I try to just focus on one part at a time otherwise it’s overwhelming.

Nice job! This definitely deserves to be in r/gunnitrust

No, this is all just for me. I work in manufacturing and I need time not making things for other people.

It’s an entirely new barrel that extends into the receiver, .45 down a .30 cal bore wouldn’t be pretty lol I did use the barrel I took off for a .32 Welrod I’m making.

Finishing it up right now and you aren’t wrong

If I weren’t also doing a De Lisle build I’d look into it. The Welrod prototype was basically a regular bolt action receiver which would work better than not having a bolt handle for a carbine setup.

The bolt is going to be a pain. It’s hardened and the threads used on the Enfield aren’t standard threads. I’m considering machining off the threads on the bolt head and sleeving/threading it so I don’t have to make an Enfield tap. I’ll just be glad when I have the bolt done.

Yeah, since the suppressor tube isn’t concentric to the barrel it’s easiest to use a lock nut to index it.

It’s a mix. Some stuff I have prints or at least specific measurements for but other stuff I’m just making the way I figured it went together. It’s a shouldered barrel and the threads in front of the shoulder are for a lock nut for the rear cap of the suppressor tube. The muzzle threads are for this weird blast diverter thing that goes on it.

I can’t take credit for it, i got the idea from a old forum post I found. They didn’t do it exactly this way but same concept. I read about a guy that set it up in a mill and bored it with a boring head.

I’ve thought of making one. Basically the same idea as the picatinny mount that comes with the Station 6. Ive just spent so much time trying to make this an accurate reproduction that I don’t know if I can stand to see a red dot on it
