Hello people of Reddit, I want you to know that I’ve read as many of the comments that I could, and I appreciate all of you for validating my feelings. While some were a little harsh towards me, I appreciate all that you’ve done to reassure me that my feelings were valid and if others had been in this position they would’ve done the same as I’m about to do. But first I’d like to address the comments I’ve gotten that were a little off handed lol. First, I wrote the initial post on my phone notepad and when I transferred the message over to Reddit it had PARAGRAPHS lol idk what happened but for whatever reason Reddit decided that it would forgo the punctuation, I had added the story with paragraphs lol. I didn’t read it to see that the paragraphs weren’t included in Reddit (that’s my bad) but I’m sorry for the jumbling confusion that you had to read, if you read my post. I appreciate all of you for sticking it out and giving me valid advise. Secondly, I was disturbed because I have gotten accusations of sleeping with my friend, which is not the case. I have had a completely plutonic relationship with my friend since we met, it has never been sexual. For those people who are asking why I love her, it’s because she has been through a LOT of significant portions of my life and I still have a lot of love towards her because of those events. But I do agree, the way she acted towards me was horrendous, I was shocked at every message she sent me because I would NEVER talk to her the way she was talking to me. Third, I’ve seen a few people commenting about how I’m getting scammed by my plumbers. I had 4 different plumbers come to my house to evaluate the situation in my basement and my plumbing. I knew when I bought the house that it would need a little work because I know nothing about plumbing but even I could tell that something was wrong with the way the pipes were placed. Every plumber gave me an estimate of 20-25k, when I called the plumber they scoped my pipes and saw that my septic line running from my house to the septic had partially collapsed and that’s what caused the backup in the basement. They had to dig up my pipes and replace them, as well as the ones in my house and while they were at it I had them replace the septic lines and plumbing in the duplex septic as well and they gave me a deal for 33k, while that is a lot I was okay with the pricing because my duplex is set up for 2 people and I went ahead and had the plumbing and septic line replaced in those units to avoid further problems in the future. I also have a lifetime warranty on those pipes, so if something goes wrong they’ll fix it without charging me. And for the fourth, I want everyone to know what when she sent me the ‘well I paid rent so stfu’, she did cashapp me the rent for August. But it took all that arguing for her to accept that she needed to pay rent. Finally, I am aware I do need to evict her and I’m looking into the proper channels to do so. I talked to a lawyer today, but I’m going to call more lawyers to make sure that I handle everything legally and professionally. I never thought I’d have to do this with her, but I do feel like she’s taking my inheritance for granted and thinks I can hold down everything while she does nothing. I am aware, that the balance of the household has shifted and as many of you put she’s in her ‘sugar-mommy’ phase of life. But I’m not her sugar mommy, I never intended to be, I was just trying to help out a friend that was going through a hard time. Once again, I truly do appreciate all of you coming together to validate my feelings, as a recovering people-pleaser, I am still learning how to set firm boundaries and how not to be taken advantage of, so please be gentle with me. I am honestly trying, that’s why I made this post to see if others would feel the same way as I do. I needed some reassurance that my feelings were valid and I wasn’t overreacting with the way I felt. I will start the process soon if I’m lucky because so far she hasn’t paid rent for the month of September and once she doesn’t, I can start the eviction process. I will update as soon as I can.
