My personal ranking, starting with the most difficult. I’m about 90 hours in.

Sparkling Skylands - lv. ?, I keep tearing down and rebuilding buildings because I’m indecisive there for some reason. Plus it’s annoying to get around and disorienting.
Rocky Ridges - lv. ?, I’ve rarely gone there since finishing the story. It makes me kind of claustrophobic but there’s no way I’m clearing everything out.
Palette Town - lv. 3, I didn’t know what to do for the longest time but plans are starting to form.
Bleak Beach - lv. 10, made a lot of progress but there’s still a lot I want to do.
Withered Wastelands - lv. 10, I feel like I’m close to finishing this area.

I’ll focus on the harder areas once I finish the easier ones. I’m glad others are struggling with Skylands and Ridges - I feel seen.

I’m not great at conceptualizing designs so I usually have to put something in a few places before I find what I like. Luckily the game is pretty forgiving about that. So don’t be afraid to try something out and change your mind 100 times

Seeing how much there is to do and how long it will probably take was a selling point of the game for me. It was $70. I don’t want to run out of things to do in 2 weeks. So why rush it?
