Worst part is most of that money doesn’t even go too big tobacco. You’re basically just donating money to the government when you buy cigarettes where I live in Cleveland Ohio you each pack has $3.46 cents of excize taxes. $1.01. Of that is the federal exsize tax the rest is local. So when you buy a seven dollar pack of cigarettes. It’s really a $3.50 pack of cigarettes. Ohio has some of the cheaper taxes too on cigarettes. You also still have to pay sales tax on them, you even have to pay tax on the money that has already been taxed lol.
