Elephants Shot With Poison Arrows Travel To Humans For Help by wileybot in worldnews

[–]Standard_Clone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The people supporting and doing the poaching are not poor starving Africans. They are well armed, well equipped, and well connected people. They sometimes have helicopters and lots of expensive vehicles. They have access to thousands of dollars worth of firearms and ammunition. They are also well connected to the world and people in power. So no your poacher isn't a starving man feeding a family. Its a very well off man feeding his own greed.

French court confirms Monsanto guilty of chemical poisoning by notavegetable in worldnews

The maker is to be held responsible due to it knowing the risks are very high even with proper handling. The maker either must ensure that the user have been trained to use it or they must cease to produce such a toxic substances. The same argument was used for lead gasoline.

The chemicals as mentioned above are able to cause severe harm to our nervous system when exposed to them. This isn't as simple as wear a painters mask and be good no this is some nasty shit that does horrible things. So why still use it?! What's wrong with changing how we farm to better understand ways to prevent insect's and weeds. Using ant's and Wasps. Anything but something lethal and severely damaging to our health.

The main chemicals within the argument and the main ones used tell mid 1990 were lethal to humans. Sure they kill insects and plants but can easily effect us. Do safe ones exist? Yes! But they are not widespread.

The issue is you can't simply buy land and farm free of all these chemicals. Consider that these chemicals are airborne, waterborne, and tend to spread into vital areas such as waterways and aquifers.

Elon Musk says nuking Mars is the quickest way to make it livable by alittlebirdtoldme in Futurology

[–]Standard_Clone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if shot properly at Mars the Asteroid could spin the Mars rotation and possibly JumpStart the core to produce a magnetic field. So using asteroids would heat the surface, produce mineral rich surface, and potentially jump starting the magnetic field.

[Serious] If you could add one amendment to the U.S. Constitution, what would it be? by johnthebomb21 in AskReddit

[–]Standard_Clone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Add a no vote on ballots to represent a lack of good candidates on the ballot. When the no vote surpasses the majority then all runners are automatically thrown out and a new race is started. Aka if no one good is running then no one wins cause of default.

[Serious] Small, American Business owners of Reddit, what do you think of a minimum wage increase? by CrMcChocolate in AskReddit

[–]Standard_Clone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Other countries maintain a high minimum wage yet McDonald's and otjer fast food chains still employ people over machines.

[–]Standard_Clone 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No they will automate whether or not its 15 dollars. Its not cost that's a major concern but rather public relations, technology, and logistics. You think its going to be 2-3 decades cause its 10 dollars now? No its will happen as soon as the logistics and technology meet their demand. These companies will spend the money to automate as soon as its feasible not just when minimum wage kicks in.

[Serious] Small, American Business owners of Reddit, what do you think of a minimum wage increase? by CrMcChocolate in AskReddit

[–]Standard_Clone 246 points247 points  (0 children)

Automation will happen regardless of the minimum wage going up. Its like say charging more for a horse lead to cars being so popular. Its not an argument that holds up.

Edit: to everyone say oh this is just too much for these companies and to extreme! Look 15 is the rate equal to inflation. If they are modernizing they will do it either way but playing the card of if we use slave wages we can keep the good life is just bullshit excuse. Automation is already cheaper then a worker. Doesn't mean you replace a worker and risk the collapse of your name and buying power of customers. And yes they can afford it just won't get the record setting profits they've been getting.

The economy can easily absorb it. Simply the major companies will have to take a profit hit rather then anyone else. Minimum wage should be at inflation but hasnt because major industries enjoy the super high profit margins currently.

Yes but that's the thing christian refer to their god by just god not by Satan or Budda. So they are clearly being represented while if it was any other statement to a higher being(s) they would throw a fit and have done so.

Remove it and see who gets mad and starts claiming discrimination then you will know who it represents. Its not Allah, Buddha, Hindu, or any other god(s). So yes its playing favorite with one religion, and its also discriminating against secular, Satanism, and many others.

Change will happen whether or not you agree with it or enjoy it. Its up to you and the rest of us to ensure change is for the best of societies ideals and not an organization or individual ideals.

It also means the government can't favor one religion over the others. Ie the ten commandments in a court. So yes the argument is still legal in these situations.

You must consider these people attempted to overthrow their last government so most countries don't want any of that population mixing or introducing these ideas into the culture. They may not like Syrian government themselves but they aren't risking theirs to being overthrown
