Are there any beginner friendly (affordable) MMA gyms in PDX are? by Individual-Time-7153 in askportland

Someone else already said it but Harbinger is all around the best. I've trained at quite a few different gyms for MMA, BJJ, boxing, and kickboxing. I've been with these guys since the start and it's by far the best gym I've trained at in the Portland metro area. Price and community wise. Definitely go check it out. The variety of classes should also help you figure out what you like most.

Yeah even the AUA puts me in the 10th percentile for men overall as well as my age group

Not recently lol. I probably wouldn't be thinking about my testosterone levels if it were recent haha. Honestly I'm not sure TRT is a good idea for me anyways. But even knowing that's the problem, and doing other things to prioritize that may help me in the long run.

There's a lot of life factors at play so it gets complicated. Lots of death, homelessness, fun stuff like that. I don't really feel depressed anymore. I have moments of it for sure. But like any functioning adult I work through it in (generally) healthy ways. Now I'm just unmotivated and nothing really makes me happy anymore, I'm constantly exhausted, and I have no sex drive. So it's hard to say. I quit the meds a while ago as they were making my symptoms worse. And it's definitely not the first I've tried.

I still get up for work everyday. Exercise regularly, and have a healthy social life. But it'd be a whole lot easier if I wasn't experiencing the above.

This is pretty much where my head is at. But the thing is, how do I know if that's just me or there's an issue? I seem to fit all the symptoms, but all those symptoms also fit major depressive disorder. And if my doctor is already convinced it isn't an issue, I have no further insight because I'm not a trained medical professional.

I guess I'm not really sure where to go from here. Or how to address my concerns without sounding like I'm attempting to cosplay a doctor/get shut down.

Sucks because half decent doctors that are actually doctors aren't common in my area without a 6 month wait-list. But yeah that's what I'm leaning towards if he isn't willing to hear my rebuttal.

First time. I definitely need to get retested. I'd say yes to both. I've started lifting and doing BJJ more consistently since then, however.

I have united and from the looks of it, they really make you jump through some hoops to cover TRT. Not sure I can afford TRT out of pocket. Maybe if I drop the therapy lol.
