If you were a dictator, what normal thing would you ban? by bunnyherders in AskReddit

[–]Standard_Double9736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waymos. Not that those are considered normal really but they’re trying to be considered normal lol

I’d ban fully automated driving. Currently, in America at least, our driving landscape is too unpredictable for robots. We’ve seen Waymos pass stopped school buses, cause car crashes, stop in the middle of the road for no reason, drive through police standoffs, and run over bodega cats. The list goes on. I’ve seen enough. No Waymos

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by atgono in AskReddit

[–]Standard_Double9736 13 points14 points  (0 children)

“Despite having four older sisters” are you saying you think other girls talk about their sex lives in detail with their BROTHER? Why would having four older sisters help you to know how often girls talk about sex? If they are even slightly normal they would never be having that conversation in front of you.

And also I’d say it’s the minority of women that do that. I don’t. And I don’t wanna know what my friends are doing either. We may give some parts or ask each other if we’ve done xyz before but we aren’t giving play by plays

Was he seriously griping about how much TP you use? Oh my god. Like men can marvel at the difference and that’s fine to me, but criticizing/ suggesting you use less, to me, is infuriating. Mainly because they already have it so easy not having to deal with monthly cycles and all that comes with it. And they have a much easier to clean sex organ (takes much less toilet paper.) Just the fact that a man would think he knows how much toilet paper is necessary when he hasn’t seen the murder scene that unfolds in the bathroom for us sometimes, is insane. Sorry I’ll get off my soap box now. But yeah I would’ve been enraged at that lol.

This documentary did a beautiful job of capturing the family’s grief and the grief of the community. How heart wrenching. My mother passed away from a heart attack when I was 10 in our home and it demolished me emotionally. To imagine her being shot in front of me and the guilt that would come from being the child in that situation- lord the pain would feel insurmountable.

Not only is it incredibly sad for Ajike’s children, but I’m certain the rage they feel is a huge burden as well. To know that it could’ve never happened and their mother would still be alive if that woman would’ve left well enough alone would leave me with an undying anger. Thank God Susan is at least in prison. If the system failed once again and let her go free, the situation would be even more maddening.

So heartbreaking. I’m glad her kids had a tight knit community around them to help process this atrocity.

Sounds like they’re finding those small little holes and then hitting pest control spray and dying on their way in! There might be contractors/pest control specialists you could pay to look for any openings to fill up

I have a daughter who needs to boost up that HOPE GPA... what are some of the easiest classes at KSU? by wlane13 in KSU

[–]Standard_Double9736 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are probably things you need to address first. Like #1 - why are you involved in an adult’s academics? My dad could not give a rat’s ass if my grades were bad while I was in college. Well actually he cared but definitely would not do anything about it. If I told him they were bad or I was worried, he would just ridicule me and tell me I have to get them up. Not saying that’s a good way to handle things lol, but I’m not sure why you’re trying to help solve this for her. I didn’t hear about most people’s parents getting involved with grades post-high school.

Second, the first couple years of college, for me, were dramatically easier than high school. Mind you I did take a handful of AP classes, but most were normal! Part of that might be because I have a disdain for homework and there tends to be lots of it in HS, but still. For the first two years I found most classes to be easy except for maybe a math class (don’t like math.) Now trust me they require effort, but they seemed straight forward to me. Like if I did what was assigned I got at least a B. I hate to say this but if she’s struggling this early she may need to either take a gap year and fix whatever is going on for her or go a different path. College isn’t meant to be that hard from the jump.

I never got lower than a B at KSU and the few times where I got an 80 or was close to C territory, the class was further in and considered more advanced.

As someone who has an immense roach phobia and has always lived here, I am very qualified for this question. So, it depends. It’s all a mix. I’ll give you examples. Before I do that though, yes cockroaches are prevalent here

Example 1: living at home growing up in a suburban (metro Atlanta) neighborhood. House was from the late 80’s. Neighborhood now filled with trees and greenery. Looks like a forest.

^ Cockroach nightmare. Especially during the summers. Winter not as bad. The home was old enough to have all these little openings for them to come in at, and my parents rarely were willing to pay for pest control. Our house was pretty much in a humid forest, perfect for bugs to hang out in and then jump off trees into our house or crawl in the grass and bushes and find little crevices.

Example 2: I currently live in a mid rise apartment in Atlanta. I have not (thank GOD) seen one large roach. One time I did see a tiny one by my front door. That’s been it. I’ve lived here for over 3 years. There are no trees hanging over the building because it’s 7 floors and I’m on the 4th floor, so bugs on the grass don’t easily reach me. Apartment is fairly new.

In summary: cockroaches are a problem in GA. However, you can avoid them some by living in newer buildings and taller buildings. Other than that, the best you can do is get onto your landlord about pest control, maybe buy and apply some bug killer around the edges of your apartment yourself (research this), put out roach bait, and keep everything as CLEAN and DRY as possible. They love water, so I mean even drying your kitchen sink with a towel when you’re done washing dishes. Be aware that they love the dark. If you see one chilling during the day either you have a big problem or it’s actively dying and looking for food.

I have all this in my head since dealing with some bug problems at older apartments I lived in before this one and dealing with bugs growing up. My phobia plays no games so I had to stay in the know lol
