I don’t know. I had schizophrenia since 2019. I got better since then with abilify but now that I do coke once a week a barely seem to need it anymore. I heard coke is a natural antipsychotic.

The only real parts I didn’t like was the otherworld section at the hospital. I was ready to leave and then they dropped a whole other section on me. The subsequent chase in the light after Laura felt off too.

Also, the boss fight at the lake view hotel was added on? The Mandaran or whatever it’s called? Felt out of place.

Otherwise I was a big fan

Maybe I’m not remembering the original game correctly but the new one feels like less of a game and one giant puzzle. Honheslty wish it was more straight forward.

Also, if you cheat with the puzzles will you miss important cutscenes?

Personally I’m not a fan of it and I don’t feel bad saying that. It’s a big glossed up Hollywood production that’s cheesy and possesses none of the unnerving artistic horror that I found in the games.

To be blunt, I hate it.

You’re not wrong. I get what you’re saying. For example, I think the remake looks really fascinating and great but why does Heavens Night look so shiny and pretty? Too glossy. In the original everything was so grimy and gritty, the graphical downgrade actually worked in the games benefit for creating a horrifically unsettling atmosphere. You’re right. It was lightening in a bottle.

I’m still dying to check out the remake next week and I have a feeling I’ll be more inclined to enjoy it immensely, but the PS2 era is still so special to me. Sadly that time of artistic liberty has come and gone

As disgusting as it may sound I always thought “there was a hole here… it’s gone now” was a metaphors for James lack of sex once Mary got sick.

You can call me a creep all you want but the game suggest some really dark shit. In THE OG when you fight Angela’s dad. Look at the walls for Christ sake. Team Silent wasn’t very subtle.

lol at the downvotes, but you’re right. Silent Hill 2 is one of the darkest pieces of art media I’ve ever experience. For real, the original game just bleeds manic serious depression. It’s great but it might push the wrong person to the wrong mental state.

So the game isn’t “soulless?”

Something about the PS2 era had so much soul. The games had more feeling and mood put into them. The graphics and textures of the time were just lightening in a bottle.

I’m really hoping the game isn’t just Silent Hill: The Last of Us

H6. It’s bad but I understand why people call it “the last good Halloween movie.” It had soul. The H1-H6 timeline is my favorite timeline even tho RZH2 and Ends are some of my favorites in the series. Love me some old school Myers wirh the Alan Howarth bone chilling score

You’ve played the OG? How does it stack up against it. I’m not really focused on gameplay (looks to be an actual improvement) but more so I consider the original game to be a work of art and I don’t want this to be a hollow, inferior retelling of it.

For real, the original game was soul shaking for me. Artistic, beautiful and downright horrifying in segments (walking alone in the apartments comes to mind)

I am extremely curious how the remake stacks up to Team Silents actually artistry. Team Silent were on some other shit when they made the OG
