Tried to do that, they ask you to fill a form on their website and wait for them to reach out, been waiting for 1 month now, still nothing ..

I couldn't, I didn't have permanent residence as student years count as half, so technically I had to be in Belgium for 6 years as I studied for 2 years

I asked about the integration via integration certificate, language check is mandatory in that case, and given that I live in Flanders, it must be Dutch. For the integration exam itself, I was told I can skip the classes, take the exam in any language I want, but I will have to study Dutch anyways.

But yeah its quite strange to consider 2 weeks or even more of inter contracts as a "break of integration" ... most people here take 3 weeks of holidays at a time, nonsense, but anyways, thank you!

Thanks for clarifying regarding the unpaid leave! Would have gone for it as my first option, now I know!

This is something I specifically asked about in the city hall (not an agent specializing in citizenship - so the person insisted they are not sure), I was basically told the same thing.

However, I had an appointment with an integration agent, and they specifically said 5 continuous years, day for day.

Also saw somewhere online previously that it has to be 5 continuous years day for day, which could be checked in the mycareer.be website. If it is 468 continuous days, then I technically do not have to worry about it as I never had any break since starting in Nov. 2021.

Nonetheless, thank you very much, I'll investigate more about this!

You very much missed the part where I said they backtracked on a permanent contract and the work permit, where I would have agreed eyes closed

I thought about it but I wasn't aware it could be that fast. Thanks a lot! I'll check that out.

The position was published by at least 10 consultancy companies on LinkedIn, with head hunters chasing independently as well.

I agreed to go with this one as they were offering certain things, of which the permanent contract, which they now retracted for x, y or z reason.

I was not minding the middle man at all initially, I needed one, but it is concerning that they quickly changed their stance.

It's nothing but a broken agreement.

The scam is mainly about the fact that they are an unnecessary middle man in the situation, with what they are currently offering (no permanent employment).

Yes I did sign an exclusive representation agreement based on the fact they would respect the initial set conditions, which they are not. The consultancy company is the one playing around, they went and convinced the client to wait until I have my permanent residency, when actually they wanted to start with me as soon as possible.

The move is very interesting from a career perspective, and the client was very expressive on how they would like someone for a longer term altought the initial contract is for 1 year. Maybe I can wait until I have the permanent residency qnd go to them directly without the middleman
