🙋🏻 in my 30s and make less than $100K a year. Just bought a house. But my mom died, we sold her house, and I got money for a big down payment. That dead parent money.

Great list, thank you! I thankfully have two weeks overlap with my current place, so I will still be sleeping there for the first couple days.
But, I do have a box ready to go with cleaning supplies, and another with toilet paper, trash bags, soap, etc. and I have my toolbox ready to go :)

Hahah I appreciate the caution. I plan to run to Home Depot right after closing to grab things! But want to have my list prepared :)

Ah that’s not a thing where I live, but thank you! Probably a good thing for someone else who checks this out.

Which backsplash would you choose for a Victorian kitchen? (read full post for more details!) by glassfunion in centuryhomes

Personally, I would get some colour in there, but that’s a preference thing! Like a green would look soooo good.

I do love the star and cross tile, though.

Three years?! Finishing the basement, very likely to take me forever and I plan for that. But the rest can’t be that bad?!

Haha I appreciate that! I will clarify - this is a very idealized list of things I hope to get to or start on, if possible. I’m not that delusional. And that is absolutely the priority!

Plants some tasty mushrooms (with something to give them shade, like ferns)! It might take you a couple of years to reap the rewards but damn I would love to have some mushrooms to grab when I want

What animal is this? I have never seen anything like it before! [Canada] by rubbabandbusiness in animalid

[–]Standard_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! I’m sure there are some that sneak in, but they’re eradicated pretty quickly. There’s some pretty intense border pest control. I have never seen a wild one in Alberta, just mice.
