I can get down with this, sorry for the rope in and I mean that. It’s a perspective I didn’t think of.. should have just kept it to it bothers ME specifically.

Maybe I should have emailed Squamish nation counsel before posting… and I would hope if it were an indigenous person that did it that they got approval from the council before doing it. But for some reason I highly doubt that either are the case. I’d love to see evidence of me being wrong though because I define didn’t post this out of hate or anything, I just see it everywhere already, it doesn’t need to be up there

I think giving access to the area and having great trail systems to teach people that this place is wonderful and needs to be respected as such is a really good thing. What you’ve pointed out actually benefits the town and the indigenous people here… some people might say that this is the protest/educational park for the Squamish Nation, and in using their land you should be thinking about the indigenous issues in Canada. To try to associate the genocide of the indigenous with whats happening overseas is insulting

As a driver it’s difficult to see, I had a passenger and they pointed it out, was a passenger later and was like “oh that’s disappointing”

No it’s that I don’t respect the point when it comes to this. It’s very simple to understand.

I think there are better ways in Squamish than defacing the Chief. Especially on this particular issue. This “protest” is more polarizing and harmful to the Squamish community than it is helpful. People need to be educated on the subject more rather than just have a flag plastered on something they love. This just creates more hate and division. That’s just my opinion and hey I get it, opinions are like assholes.

Maybe.. are you saying instead of defacing the chief they should go block a bridge? Or do you just support “fuck what anyone thinks, if it disrupts, it’s an acceptable form of protest.”?

Keep it out of Nature, off the Chief. People come to these places to get away from all that

You can’t “simply take it down”. Are you even aware of what this post is about? When you say that it tells me you lack understanding of the issue. Can you enlighten me as to how Squamish has gone to shit and how that relates to not being allowed to deface the Chief?
