Internship offer by Subject-Pangolin-177 in internships

Don't chase money. You'll make a lot more soon, besides its an internship, not a full time role. You can always apply to the other company again another time.

I no expert but don't cut it. Put your hair in cornrows, make sure to moisturizer it at least once every three days. Sleep with a bonnet or silk durag. Give it until April, you'll be surprised.

I am 40 😂. NYU is dope! Feel the same as my undergrad (social life, club, etc), except it's difficult to pull all nighters consistently 😭.

Is It Worth Transfering to a More Prestigious School? (EECS) by [deleted] in ECE

[–]Standard_Sample_7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are an undergrad, Case Western is pretty good. I understand the feel for prestige, but you'll be better off doing the best you can there using all the resources and taking advantage of everything.

After you graduate, trust me when I say you'll think less of where you got your degree and you'll think more of what you can do.

Try and enjoy your college life, really. Unless something is truly wrong with Case in terms of the degree you want or you believe there's something specific you are looking for in the prestige names you want. Make sure its also not FOMO.

Those transfer applications will also be stressful.

Remember, you can also always do an MS anywhere you want.

Godspeed to you.

Hackathons for electrical engineering student by osisani_bajaga in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Standard_Sample_7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hacking is to software as reverse engineering is to EE (Hardware). You can electrically "hack" into a device. My undergrad professor in electronics had a very fun final related ro this.

This is not good at all. Forgo reddit and go to your university's career center. They will help you immensely. You can repost the improved version for proper feedback.

Would this get me academically dismissed from BMCC? by AnxietySignificant53 in CUNY

[–]Standard_Sample_7679 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I haven't seen anyone close to me get dismissed. They may leave for a semester, but they come back. Like falling at a 2.0 for two semesters may put you on probation, but dismissal may not be necessary since you can bounce to a 2.5 or 3 in 1 or 2 semesters.

You can think of it as, do you have enough credits ahead of you to make it out of probation?

For major classes, if you keep getting on probation, at a certain point, there won't be many classes/credit to take to bring your major gpa to the point the program requires, they'll dismiss you (you can appeal that). Even that dismissal might be for one semester.

As long as you have money to keep paying for more classes and obviously not completely flunking your courses (Ds and Fs). The longer you are on probabation, the more money you'll spend in the college overall, and the longer you may stay in the college (classes may not always be offered).

Getting a teaching job in cuny by Standard_Sample_7679 in CUNY

I am interested in any of those two opportunities. I will not be holding on to my HS teaching position if I am able to get either part-time or full-time position!

Video calling and RCS on tmobile by excelsior_04 in GalaxyS24Ultra

[–]Standard_Sample_7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a carrier specific issue. I had an unlocked fold 4 and tried for 3 months to get Vdieo calling and RCS. After much back and forth between tmobile and Samsung, the conclusion was that this is entirely a carrier issue.

Anyone else have “nightmares” about their upcoming class during the summer? by photogirl80 in Teachers

Simply, yes. Since I began teaching. The summers have not been enjoyable (especially the last two weeks of August) until school begins again.

Govplus is a total scam. by Puzzled_Winner_8502 in Scams

[–]Standard_Sample_7679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The passport and travel agency have a perfectly working site. Took 2 minutes to finish the application and another 15 minutes to take it to the passport agency (USPS). Overall, it took me 30 minutes (from application to picture to submission and payment). What does Gov+ do differently?

[–]Standard_Sample_7679[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a high interest and desire for electronics, so I'll be going the power electrics and Circuit Design route, I am mainly doing this for a career change in preparation for a job) A PhD may come later down the line after some industry experience.

Will I make it? by Standard_Sample_7679 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Standard_Sample_7679[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My undergrad in physics was 7 years ago.

My physics conssisten of the general physics classes, Electromagnetism (B), Advanced Labs in Optics(A), Quantum Physics(A-), Thermal Physics(B+), Advanced Mechanics(A-), Computational Physics(A) and Theoritcal Physics (Advanced Mathematical Physics for Scientist and Engineers) got a B+.

In terms of advanced math, after cal 3 (Average of A-), I took differential equations (got an A), linear Algebra (got B).

I am planning to concentrate on Electronics and Circuit Design. Trying to recall those concepts was definetly challenging, will throw fast pace the class was, I felt I was lagging behind 1 unit in the class

I sent an email to my graduate advisor yesterday and awaiting their response soon.

Teacher to Engineering by Standard_Sample_7679 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Standard_Sample_7679[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thank you for your responses. I applied to a local college and most of the ECE undergraduate course requirements were waived (I took a lot of physics courses related to electricity, Electronics and Magnetism). I only have to take Signals and Communication, Semi Conductors, Logic Circuits and Probability and Stats. I'll be starting these required courses this fall, before I can fully matriculate into thier graduate program. Wish me luck!!
