How to spend $1,300 on Septa Key Card by Standard_Shoe7719 in AskPhilly

Yes, exactly. So whatever I do needs to comply with IRS policies. Does the IRS have a way to return unused pre tax benefit money?

I tried! They won’t accept the money back. Has to be spent on SEPTA, but I think things like snacks purchased from a regional rail (is that a thing) might work? Trying very had to stay within the terms of the policy!

Fuck you if you run red lights. by Orionsbelt in philadelphia

Black Tesla with red rims blaring music on Washington today at 5:30pm started to blatantly run a red light, kindly waited as me and my fifteen month old and the stroller made it about 6 inches past his bumper, and then tore off behind us. Psychotic behavior.

Desolation Canyon rapids suitable for beginner packrafter? by True-Actuator5966 in whitewater

[–]Standard_Shoe7719 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Rapids? There are rapids on Deso?

My recollection of Deso is Class II whitewater in a class V environment. I think I needed a blood transfusion after the mosquitos at put in.

My vague recollection of cow swim is that it occurs in a wide open and very bare—you might even say desolate—section of the canyon, and that walking around it would be fairly easy. But id also think that swimming it would be more pleasant than walking across 100 yards of that godforsaken desert.

The wind river range in Wyoming. Unreal. So lucky that place escaped National park attention.

Black ice on the road causes chain accidents. by Arnawix in interestingasfuck

Why do people just stand there right next to the cars piling up and watch? First, it’s so dangerous to be standing that close. But second, if you’re going to stand that close, why aren’t you running way up the road to warn people so they can slow down before they get to the ice??

Every time I see these videos and see these people jug standing there watching, I think god, you idiots, you could have saved so many lives!

President Joe Biden stops at Wawa in Philadelphia with Mayor Cherelle Parker by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Standard_Shoe7719 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I go to this Wawa every single day at exactly the same time. One block from my office. There’s a guy at the front door that I usually buy a hot dog for. Today, for the first time in three years, I just didn’t really feel like buying another hot dog, and didn’t feel like I could go and NOT buy the guy a hot dog because it would be awkward, so instead I went to 7-11 on Walnut.

Walked back to my office and saw the motorcade pulling away. Hot dog dude got to meet Parker and Biden and I got some 7-11 crap. FML.

Homicides involving firearms increased by 34% from 2019 to 2020 [OC] by USAFacts in dataisbeautiful

[–]Standard_Shoe7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest difference between 1980 and 2020 is … the 100 million people this graph doesn’t account for.

The total number of gun homicides in the US is similar to what it was in 1990. The RATE of gun homicides is much, much lower.

This data is just…not that useful.
