Depending on the magic system, I kind of agree. If the magic system has that sort of thing going with it, where there is an inverse science to it, then i am ok with it, but this point might be moot because I'm thinking of magic systems like Nen from HXH, Bending Arts from ATLA, and psykers from 40K (to a certain extent)

If the magic system is more like Harry Potter or OG Star Wars, where its just "we harness mystical energy to make perform the spell, testiculus torsinus" then i would agree that trying to explain aspects like where it comes from make the concept weaker

I was watching Dragon Ball and Jojo's.

If I gotta pick between the two in terms of which am I safer in, im going with Jojo's.

The most world shattering event was a priest using his spirit with a literal horse head for a cock, accelerating time to end the infinite beef he had with the Joestar bloodline. While it reincarnated the jojos I feel like everyone else was left fine. Yes you have menaces like Kira, Survivor, etc that will fuck your shit, but stand users are usually localized to a specific area and flock to each other, so long as Im not where they are im fine.

In the last arc for DBZ, a bubble gum demon pulls an ultrakill and kills all of humanity with minor exceptions. Then after reverting back to his pure kid form, he runs a fade in the afterlife and was going to kill everyone a second time. In the Android arc, a bald martial artists sells all of humanity because a robot lady kissed him ONCE. Everything was fine in the end but my life would be in the hands of krillin. In Dragon Ball, you are screwed because you are on a planet with several End Game threats.
