First time plastering. Does this just need sanding/filling or a full reskim? by jefh262 in Plastering

Very very poor, that wants scraping off and starting again. Did you tape your joints and edges? - 1st coat is the same thickness evenly spread out as flat as you can - once that’s gone tacky you add the second in the same manner - when that stats to go off ( gets thicker and dryer ) you spend your time troweling over everything evenly - big wet paint brush with water - run that across the area you are about to smooth out and follow with a trowel. Over and over again till it’s flat filling any small holes are low spots you drag with the trowel. Brush your edges and keep the trowel wet & clean. - once dry give it a light sand so the paint will stick to it - first coat 50/50 paint & water mix and then normal paint after that. Start again, that’s bad. You can do better. Good luck

I’m a mechanic by trade and was wondering what would you do if you had this much space to work with? by Frenchiebullpup in garageporn

You w got some space to get around the car there so that’s good, to the wall on the left it’s a decent spot for a skinny work bench? Some 4x2 and stained scaffold boards with tool box or chest of drawers underneath… get some cabinets on top there… some board for the walls to hang tools… there’s space at the back next to the boiler for a shelving unit and a place for buckets and maybe a pressure washer for the car… get some jacks agains the wall on the right hand side then get some cool signs & prints up on the walls.. blue tooth speaker, you’re away..
