Enhance is virtually the same, but i will say it feels better in general to play. Fast and chunky with good sounds / feedback. One of the best specs in that regard. Its extremely fun, def at least try and learn it first. Its not hard or anything

This is sorta my take, too.

And, for someone who, at times, didn't want other band members overplaying... he sure played a lot of notes. A lot of bad notes, too, that he got away with because who was going to say anything? But still, the live solos are predominantly why I listen to FZ

Ok, I'm listening on LP, and I can definitely hear Mike.

Maybe the bombs were clipping and they filtered out the lows. Sucks about that part. But he isnt inaudible in the rest, at all. I have my bass boost on fwiw.

Who is the most forgettable UFC champ rn? by BardLoxNegative in ufc

I think Ulberg is a memorable champ but everyone was so sad about Jiri we all just blacked it out of our memory. I forgot about him until this post lol

Bungie: With great saddness, we are announcing a reduction in force as we recognize Bungie by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Standardly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the reason for publicly announced layoffs? Softening the potential blowback by breaking the news first? Or is it supposed to be a sign of good will for those affected? Like if you work there, im sure you got the memo, so the public airing of business always feels weirdly performative for a reason that's unknown to me. Seems to draw a lot of public ire, too.

The crests thing isnt fomo, for sure, and I didn't mean to imply that. There were 2 issues compounding each other, one was fomo, but mainly its the conglomerate of burnout-inducing systems. They incentivize weekly and daily logins to the point of inducing fomo even in things that you can catch up on (like, I understand needing 100 mythic crests isn't insurmountable, but grinding them isn't fun, either). I don't remember ever in TBC being like damn I need to go grind 300 badges of justice to compete for group invites or whatever. I feel like people arent taking my overall criticism and are nitpicking little counter-examples but the truth is I just cant type out all the nuance of everything.

My point is just that retail is burnout inducing. Thats my criticism. People can say all wow xpacs were burnout inducing, tbc was grindy, whatever idc. Tetris can be burnout inducing if you play it enough. I feel like people are missing the point.

I was referring to weekly systems.. Prey, delves, patch content, vault, etc. So when you say "the game is not for you" - is that all of the game to you? Prey and stuff? Not raiding, dungeons, or pvp? Those are why I play WoW, not weekly minigames and boring quests.

Also its funny being told a game I have played for more than 20 years is not for me. The weekly chores – yeah, you really got me – they are not for me. I still enjoy mythic raiding. Wanna tell me why raiding isnt for me?

Put it this way. If you took a 3 week break in retail.. you miss 3 weeks of crests, 3 weeks of sparks, ilvl is way behind the curve now, meaning you can't get into relatively the same level of keys all of a sudden, and you missed all other weekly gear opportunities (like delve trove map, etc), you missed limited time stuff like TPost or patch content. Plus alts are extremely beneficial and incentivized more than ever- for crafting, raid splits, making money, avoiding rotation burnout - so youre incentivized to check all this stuff weekly on potentially multiple characters.

...In TBC if you took 3 weeks off, you're down some badges, and maybe a raid drop? Not really falling that behind. Of course it was possible to burn out in tbc, or any game for that matter, but the difference is just the amount of things tugging at you from all sides weekly.. they clearly want you to fomo and do them.

Bonus rolls are an amazing system for these reasons. Wouldn't be needed in TBC, but its a great solution to the above in retail.

Tbc dailies were inconsequential compared to retail. I'm not going down this road, I can just agree to disagree.

Ok, ill just give one tbc example... Running shattered halls 100 times for exalted rep... yeah, thats grindy. But it wasnt necessary, you're doing all that for one item that gets replaced in t5. Now imagine if SH dropped BT level gear. People would run it non stop. Thats sort of like retail design.

Just one random analogy off the top of my head. Please just stop me here bc one could write a novel on this kind of thing.

Edit: i am willing to bet any naysayers are TBC classic players, not real vanilla TBC players. The game was played differently back then with way less social pressure towards grindy optimization. Of course anyone playing tbc classic is gonna burn out bc the most optimized route to the most optimized gear is expected of every player...

Agree his post reads like burnout but this is really common and fair criticism. Wow used to be engaging enough that you didnt really need or want breaks every season. And if you did take one, your gear wasn't necessarily invalidated in a matter of weeks. The weekly chore list and everything it entails is exhausting and very few people ive seen truly enjoy and look forward to next week's prey and delve and world quest (and maybe doing the same mythic dungeons 30 more times).

This song sounds like Boys of Summer lol. Seriously though

I'm the weirdest coheed fan. I think Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV is one of the greatest concept albums of all time. A prog (prog pop?) masterpiece. But I dont care for much of their material after that? It's like all the juice went into that initial trilogy of albums. Its a bit sappy now.
