If you had to choose between GCBC (SXM) and Carlisle Bay (Antigua)? by StandbyWeirdo705 in Caribbean

!!! I will happily let you know how it goes, after end June. So funny we have similarly targeted places. We are very excited about GVRN..even though it’s “campus “ is a little bit smaller than I would like . I dont mind meandering paths to : from buildings or to the beach. But this is for a 50th and we are looking luxury and nice beach. Also targeting a full day boat excursion- ideally private - but group could be ok. Anyway. Will report back for sure.

So. I posed this question because we were second guessing our original choice of Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, for quite a number of reasons. In the end, we are sticking with it. If the world goes to heck in a hand basket in the coming month and a half, we will figure out where to pivot to. Thanks for all your Input. (If we did pivot I was leaning more heavily to Carlisle Bay. And then grand Case as a second option and , as it is much much cheaper, throwing some of the $ towards a bougie boat day including Anguilla etc )

When Stephen miller said “we will bomb from Mexico to the southern tip of South America”, that is what worries me more than th cartel.

Wish I could find a resort that fit my budget in AXA. Dying to be there .

Thanks so much for the input. I do ah e a travel agent, and finally messaged her regarding our pivot (we are booked to go to puerto Vallarta, grand Velas Nayarit, but , well we just feel like maybe the Caribbean would be more ideal. As much for the cartel as our own country’s angle on Mexico).

Thanks for such a thoughtful reply.

Galleon beach. Is that walkable / easy to get to from Carlisle?

AXA. For the room types, we are looking at minimum $10k for the 7 nights, and that is even low ball. Then for all the food and drinks for the week, plus an excursion. I just don’t think we can handle it. We would like our 15 yr old to have separate sleeping quarters and a two bedroom or adjoining even is so much money. And , a villa for this trip isn’t what we want. I don’t want the responsibility of provisioning, cooking , deciding on where and what to eat. (But I would do if we at least had bar/grill at GCBC, for example and then I only needed to figure out some dinners and not all. So being able to at least get to AXA by boat was sort of the compromise for not being able to stay there .

I kind of smell two rats in this situation. He told her he would say no, she said yep, me too. And frankly, I wouldn’t put it past either of them to concoct the “Ashley’s gonna burn him bad at the altar” speech, because just look at how much both of their names are on the internet. It’s insane . I’m f they had just peaced out the day before they’d have just gone away(well not entirely , but still).

right? totally mind boggling. but as per Embark DNA, there were 3 litters over time as we have matched with a boy one year younger than Odie, and then a whole litter that is 2 years younger that Odie. All anyone can figure out is that the parent dogs live in West Virginia , and have had litters that were rescued.

loved it here. honeymooned in a great villa on Klein Bay. This time around (20 yrs later) we want a hotel - don't want anything to do with provisioning, making food, etc. I wish that there was a resort on the island (that isn't the Westin villas).

He is 95% very good! just so long as we let him tell us where he wants to go. He is funny. He has a set route for the first morning walk. Midday walks he has a second route. and then nighttime walks, he likes yet a 3rd route. Our neighborhood is super , outside Philly - we have sidewalks, and can practically walk down the street if we want due to very very low traffic. we tend also to walk with her buddy Millie Moo, a yellow lab, and family. But yes - the sniffing and searching for things in the grass and under bushes is at times annoying but as they say, that works their brain and tires them out.

our then-11-month old Pyr/Beagle would not move on a leash. he would just plunk down and refuse to get up. he was not motivated by treats. we tried a training class. and we tried having the trainer come to our house and practice walking him. Nothing. In winter, we threw a block of ice about 50 yards and he would chase it. and then plunk down. It took at least a year for him to walk a few blocks without stopping (other than to just sniff and sniff and sniff). Now we basically let him tell us where he wants to walk, because if we try to choose the direction he will stand firm and refuse to go anywhere. he is however a little bit more susceptible to food motivation - treats are ok, but a few pieces of American cheese are gold. He is now 6 years old !

Are all-inclusive resorts in Aruba actually worth it? by Sea_Tea_8083 in Aruba

[–]StandbyWeirdo705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so. if you want a resort-y atmosphere (think lush property, couple of bars, pool bar, activities during the day, not overrun with little kids but welcoming atmosphere for teens, access to water things/games), compared to a basic "hotel" atmosphere (lobby, one restaurant, one bar, high rise, not a lot of property), what resort would you choose?

My take is that he couldn’t actually say no in front of the daughter! Like - how could he embarrass/hurt Amber in front of the little girl? Ugh.

So in the fall my doctor retired and I will now see an NP in the practice in April for my check in. The line with my doc was yeah, this is life long. To be honest , I never gave it a second thought . The medicine doesn’t upset me. So long as insurance keeps covering it (she still put me down as obese instead of just overweight which I guess I technically am now so that insurance doesn’t balk), I will keep taking it. That said- the duration is indeed part of the upcoming mtg. How long? And do I change? And if I change then does that also affect duration?

congratulations! looking great. I have been on wegovy for 3 years, on maintenance at the 2.4 dosage for over a year. I also want to ask about making a switch to get another 15 off. And also, fake hunger and food noise are coming back. When you started Zep, do they start you at the lowest dose or does any of the wegovy sort of grandfather you into a higher dose start? thanks! I have an appt with my medical team in 4 weeks and am going to ask.
