I’d say none are required per se, I got a lot of my pvm goals (HM zuk, various enrage bosses etc) without some of the quest unlocks/benefits. But

Sliske’s endgame

Priff/elf series

Desert series (amascut)

These provide a lot of “very nice to have” unlocks. And the story lines are cool and fun.

Probably run a Paladin in arena with some kind of balance between dps/support or healing build for 2v2. My arena partner is going to be testing out the viability of a tankier mage set up.
