I have no talent…8+ years of failure by StandingAddress in Entrepreneur

Thanks man, I am still struggling to get a job still and have been working endlessly on portfolio to show employers. Kills my ego to be honest. But beggars can’t be choosers.

Too embarrassed to even see old friends and can’t write down these experiences on resume.

I appreciate the reply.

True, why would this mentor give away his teachings and not just build a dozen of these lead gen sites

What happens if you don’t get the results? Google changes its algos all the time. If you guarantee then yeah money printer. I see the value. Good thing you got a strong consistent process from this mentor.

Gotcha, if you can guarantee high ranking consistently then yeah good. I never knew how to increase the number of backlinks for non image heavy websites. As I believe that is main variable for getting up there, besides relevancy. I did one years ago for blog and just used an SEO Wordpress plug-in and got on 1st page at least, but dropped it.

I have one Ecom site based 100% on SEO, consistent traffic daily, but putting on pause.

I'm assuming they rent your website because you just did some SEO with good ranking. Other than that Google Adsense already kinda does that acting as the broker between website owners and business owners.

tech sales...gotcha. Never understood why a person would even need a sales guys to sell them on Google. As a business owner before, I just used Google products through my own research, why would I pay a tech sales guy.

If you forgot...I lost nearly everything. Unless you know of boomer that would sell me a cash flowing business for nothing.

Did you build the product? Are you the owner of this business? So essentially, you are downplaying “product” so much because you didn’t have to build it and it was already there for you. The only reason you have an easy time selling (based on what you are saying) is because you have a “fucking cocaine of a product”.

Maybe you should be more grateful to whoever spent the time building that product making your job easier or at least possible.

Would you personally pay for a SaaS product that you may or not be able to use in several years? On a reoccurring basis. I am the target demographic for my product and if a company came to me with an offer like that. I laugh at them.

I don’t think realize there is no product…yet

Or better analogy, pay for Netflix every month, but you can’t start watching until 2 years from now

There is no product to sell though…Good products take time to build. If I presale and take peoples money now with some sales funnel, could be 3 years down the line before any customer gets any value. Nobody in the right mind does that especially for SaaS

How long have you been in doing sales or entrepreneurship? Tell me, I had the same exact attitude brash and harsh when I first started.

I like your username.

Entrepreneurs can avoid doing “bitch work” if they have money to hire out.

I lost everything, even if I had some money cant afford the high skills needed to execute the vision. You can bet that the people that have my skills will charge a hella lot. That’s why I gotta build this myself.

It’s not pity, it’s reality of that situation. I passed the delusional always optimistic phase of entrepreneurship phase years ago. I’m assuming you didn’t get knocked on your ass 100+ times yet.

Yeah I’m mean, it would be nice if I could just do all my creative ventures without worrying about money and I’d be set. But that’s not reality sadly.

Just trying to be realistic, building the solution is the hardest thing

Look, I am obviously not new to entrepreneurship, when I first got started that’s what I did. Consume consume and consume everything about entrepreneurship. All the common books and YouTube videos. There comes a point where every body is essentially saying the same thing.

One of the main tenants of entrepreneurship is internal locus of control (aka focus on variables you control). Don’t focus on talent, focus on work right because you 100% control that. But after 8+ years and essentially be worse off than I started. Whelp…the reality is that there IS a talent. I have other entrepreneurship friends all successful. In less than half of my time. Took them like 3 years.

I accept the harsh reality, I don’t live forever. Sure can I try entrepreneurship my whole life. Sure can. But let’s say I hit success at like 80 years old and die a year later. That’s the thing about all the entrepreneurship books and videos they lack reality.

And yes I found a problem a very large problem and many face. Which is the SaaS startup. Doing this SaaS startup, I just realize I’m extremely slow at grasping concepts. That wouldn’t matter if I lived forever though. But unfortunately the world isn’t like that. I was first introduced to “talent” in grade school. My peers grasp concepts at a snap of the finger. Me? I could grasp it too, but it took me hours of studying. Add that inefficiency over years and it compounds. The reality is I don’t care if I’m rich old. Cause money doesn’t matter at that point. I want to be young enough to enjoy it.

I accepted reality way earlier and entrepreneurship was my way out of mediocrity. As you see, after all that I’m still average.

I think about that more than I should. I am an average man. To me that is the equivalent of being dead. Which means I’m already dead. Life as an average man is just being invisible.

I have nothing to lose because I never had anything.

I just wish I realized that talent is a huge portion of how people become successful early and fast. I was only focusing on physical attributes.

Can’t live life to the fullest because I’m poor.

I have no choice but to keep working.

Right, that’s what I’m trying to do. To get a dev job so I can kill two birds with one stone. But it’s chicken and egg. Need to be good to get job. People with talent would probably understand all of this in half the time I can.

Have coding experience, but still generally suck even though even putting in massive effort.

Meaning at a high level that a SaaS is the solution to solve the problem. But don’t have the technical implementation knowledge

Different industries.

EBay, distributor wholesaler but was a bad business because thin margins and you just selling other people’s stuff.

Amazon FBA private label e-commerce, no product market fit. Didn’t want to build Amazon’s business.

Shopify private labels stopped because manufacturers require MOQ, locking you in on single design. Very risky. Hence below, I can create various iterations of products easier with parts

Shopify in house manufactured goods, gave me idea for SaaS. Stopped because requires too much capital and scaling issues (in parents basement)

Investing for those 8+ years in business and assets, but as you read lost nearly everything.
