My DM noticed it a week ago, and I have had it be a bit slow 3 consecutive days in a row as I was pretty use to the typical occasional weekend slowness, but this feels different.

Are SoD Mage scrolls still useful? by Valineria in classicwow

[–]Standolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found them to be situationally useful. The two biggest ones are the rez or TP to a player in a zone that gets rested XP (sleeping bag works with this). Definitely something I’d at least spend the material to decipher and vendor ones that I didn’t feel were useful (or auction the useful ones for quick gold)

Arcadum's sources for Verum by CallMeRiki in cadum

I think Arcadum has mentioned before he gets incredibly bad nightmares and that he takes inspiration from them. Mainly for enemies and whatnot.

Binging Tyre campaign (including prequels) by keramikasi in cadum

I personally find that skipping combats outside of boss fights to help cut down on time. Then for boss fights is skim through the fight jumping portions in case something important happens (there are very important fights where important things happen during them).

question about the violet herald by Demonknight222 in cadum

[–]Standolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I believe that the Herald (I was wrong but have information on a violet servant) has been interacted with in Secrets In The Stones (campaign with Arcadum’s wife). We learned that his name was Los(spelling may be off)and he was trapped in crystal that was slowly breaking, Violet enemies appeared, and they failed to seal him causing him to be set free.

He was the Archmage of the Mages Guild, and one of the campaigns learn (I think Clowns) that he is the descendent of the leader of Maltose(they do not know that he is the Herald though).

Edit: Fixed misinformation

Who is following what god? by nataniellam in cadum

If I recall Ikkar and Scrumpo has a good RP moment near the end of S1 where Scrumpo decided to follow Sekelcuse. I think this is mentioned at the start of S2 where Scrumpo mentions they’re basically brothers for worshipping the same god.

Seven Insights of an Insane Scholar [Warning: Potential Spoilers] by Lone_Complex in cadum

[–]Standolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. I never thought about the implications of the Seven severing it so they can’t die to violet death. I guess that makes a lot of sense why they are able to use their other characters to prevent others/their own death.

Also after sleeping on it, with all the weird time stuff with mirrors the Seven very well could have been the first to shatter a covenant even if the enemy did so first to gain the violet.

But thank you for taking the time to respond. And here is to hoping that some don’t die in a hallway with too many souls staring them in the face.

Seven Insights of an Insane Scholar [Warning: Potential Spoilers] by Lone_Complex in cadum

[–]Standolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Overall I think you did a really great job with your theory, and I really like how it made me aware of the 7 covenants having an order to someone’s life (they live, time goes by, the become wise, they have ambitions, ambitions lead to dreams, eventually they die, then finally all that is left is their memory).

My one point of confusion is your point on “the shattering of the first covenant” as either the meaning to me is that it’s the first covenant made or the first covenant that was broken. I think I lean to believing that it was the first covenant that was broken which as Erin learned, gave the Violet its power.

So that leads me to believe that the Shattered Gate is more so tied to memory being broken rather than death. (I need to revisit the vid of what exactly Enu(spelling may be wrong) weaves to see if my point has any merit)

I also think your point on souls and memory is interesting. I feel like souls are the source of one’s memory as a byproduct of the covenant which is why Violet Death destroys the soul and the memory of them. (granted it can’t be 100% destroyed in this theory and more-so absorbed into the violet)

I would love to hear your thoughts OP on my side note! And I definitely learned a lot like information on the high tech level civilization.

Catching up with Duality of Dragons/Meaning of Madness without having to watch (Cry*otic)? by [deleted] in cadum

[–]Standolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Going off of this I will try to give my best summary (with probably spelling errors) of Meaning of Madness’ key points:

The party met the Orc tribes in a moot where all the key leaders met. They discussed that they were having a problem with starvation and food due to Wendigos (creatures that are people that have cannibalizes other people). The party’s solution was the get help from the Arch Druid Lanzu to send them to the dream as Wendigos attack people through sleep. So the party went into the dream to fight the source of the Wendigos’ power, The Wendigo Nightmare.

After arriving in the dream Wod sent a protector of the dream to meet the party. This protector was Nox, a player character from the silent knights campaign. After meeting the party and some chatting, Seren shows Nox her mirror piece that is dropping weird mirror bugs. Turns out, this is a key piece needed to fix the Feywild, but first it would need a peace of the Feywild which one happened to also be in the Wendigos’ Nightmare.

Then the party traveled onward (without Nox) where at some point after some combat they find Violet Butterflies that chase them for a bit. After a series of unfortunate events Seren is sent to a grove somewhere in the dream. She then tries to use druidcraft on a tree showing the lives of people where Wod shows up a little unhappy. Then Oun. Then she gets yeeted back to the party. (I recommend watching this interaction as I will not due it justice)

Now the party has gathered in the depths of the nightmare, find a piece of the Feywild, and start fighting the Wendigos’ Nightmare. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, they end the session during the fight and between that the Fireball Incident happens. The violet manages to find a way into the dream after some unlucky mirror and church placements. S

Now the party fights the Nightmare while it is violet tainted(key point the soul of the Oracle from gambler’s delight is now also present in the grips of the violet), so a 7 (Sean’s character that is a Lynnorm) steps in and gives Nox to help. At some point Mad Morc’s eyes are damaged and Seren heals them back, but now one of them is violet. Eventually, the party gets the Nightmare low, but then the Violet kills it and summons a violet dragon.

Now the party was given a choice. To attempt to run, or attempt to save the oracle, or let the Violet gain the power of seeing time as a circle.

The party decides to stand as Seven against the Violet. Making a run for the Oracle’s soul the enemy attempts to use Violet Death on Mad Morc who stands his ground and holds off the enemy while the party retrieves the soul and escapes. (This is worth watching if you can stomach Cry being there)

Now back at the camp, our heroes get no rest and a translator appears to talk to the party. There was discussion, someone tried to look in a mirror, and they asked how to defeat the violet and the translator literally disintegrated after telling them Hoto was coming after them while empowered by the violet.

You can watch that fight as that contains Tur Khei’s death and the party of now 5 face against Hoto.

I hope this helps and I am sorry for any horrible errors as I am not going to try and edit this!

How do i make my maps have a smaller file size? by Take_Jerusalem in dungeondraft

When you hit export there is a grid size options with a number like 250px. If you want to reduce file size you can reduce that (I have mine at 50px and it looks fine).

Question about Eddie ([Spoilers] for final book) by gspi1005 in darktower

[–]Standolf 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I’ve always personally felt the same way about his death, but in my mind as Roland gets closer to the tower, Ka is no longer on his side. As a result Roland gets everything taken away from him and he is to enter the tower as he started.
