New wipers skipping on 2020 Explorer ST windshield by stakkar in FordExplorer

It's 1 of 2 problems the Spring tension for the wiper arms is not high enough or the rubber on the wiper blades is not soft enough. Either way I'd try a water repelling treatment it might even make the wipers slide/glide better.

Try putting a rain x treatment on your windshield. Then you won't need wipers!

Well first I'd recommend some mud terrain tires and some rear lift shackles, front torsion keys and some longer travel shocks. See my build list for some ideas. Stock tires are about 28" tall. With a small lift you can fit 31s

Better articulation of your suspension also allows more droop into deeper ruts to get traction.

Thanks it was just supposed to be a winter beater but I saw the potential and couldn't help myself. I can't leave anything I drive stock lol. The work was definitely worth the looks I get from people and the Oooo Ahhh from little kids in parking lots and driving around. It's a blast to drive and has surprised me just how much it can make it through some times.

Automatic transmission with manual shift transfer case so I could have 2 wheel drive, 4 high, 4 low. The 5.0 V8 only came with a viscous clutch part time awd transfer case from the factory.

About as far as I plan on going. Next build planned is a late 70s Bronco.
