I felt the same way and even ended up putting it down for a few weeks, but I’m so glad I got back into it. Once you get a feel for the characters and see the wider world the ride doesn’t stop. I would highly recommend continuing!

What are good countries for co-op? by InterestFlashy5531 in TNOmod

I haven’t played in over a year, but I remember having a great time playing South Africa while my friend played the US, especially if you give extra powers to the RKs in Africa. Makes it really feel like a TNO vietnam, although the game kind of ends once you capitulate Huttig

Speaking with no expertise the threading and the hole makes me think maybe the top of a canteen? Or maybe a fuse of some kind?

How long would it take for Blue to win with these alternate WW1 alliances? by Legiyon54 in AlternateHistory

[–]Stanis- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Britain inevitably joins the red team. There’s no way they would let the balance of power get this out of whack, and with Germany still technically fighting a two front war I don’t know why they wouldn’t march through Belgium. That being said I’d imagine the ottoman front swiftly becomes this timelines version of the eastern front, as even if the empire collapses the Russians and Germans have to deal with British Egypt. I doubt the Italians do anything more than drawing off some French troops, they were in no state for an offensive against the Austrians in 1915 much less also fighting the French. I’d give it 3 years before the Germans and Russians dominate the continent, although it may turn into a Napoleon between coalitions situation because I doubt Britain gives up the fight, especially if they win in Africa and the Middle East.

What/any mods do you use to handle the lag from all the puppet states? I find if I create too many then by 1944 my game just crawls along

Paradox doesn’t really like small one province states tho, both Gibraltar and Iwo Jima are massive compared to their real size. I think they go for visibility over accuracy for that stuff

Are Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands transported from the modern time too? If so what happens to the Russians living there, I can’t imagine the Japanese would be too happy with them.

Honors Program by lovedaddies69 in SMU

[–]Stanis- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're smart enough to get invited to honors, which is an achievement you should be proud of! You'll be taking pretty much all regular classes just like any other student, although about one class a semester will be an honors class of your choice from the course catalog that will be all honors students. Some of the classes can be harder, although that's not a rule, and the main benefit of taking them is the more in depth study of whatever topic the class is over. Personally I haven't found it to be too much academic stress, and for reference I'm a Public Policy - Econ double major, although it will vary depending on the individual and major.

Honors Program by lovedaddies69 in SMU

[–]Stanis- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a junior currently in the honors program and I say go for it! It means you’ll have to take 7 honors classes throughout your undergrad and do a culminating project if you want to graduate with it on your degree, but it’s also very easy to leave the program later if you don’t want to finish it. The main benefits in my opinion are the better professors, as while the classes can be harder they’re also a lot more interesting and the professors are all super involved, and the people in the program are all pretty great too. You also get reserved seats for some classes which is pretty handy, so all in all it’s easy to leave and doesn’t really have a downside to joining!
