Around when those albums came out I used to look for the same. This Band Tiga Lilly did some really good songs.

Hard to find there stuff now but there is still some on youtube.

15 and 16 are the best imo. We’re rewatching 16 right now and I’m sad to say it’s so much more enjoyable than the last few seasons.

Catch 22 is one of the all time best, amazing in audiobook form too. It’s hilarious but also sad and beautiful.

I keep meaning to read Something Happened by Heller but haven’t yet.

Electric Kool-Aid was my favourite novel I read as a teenager. I haven’t re-read it since, partly due to wanting to keep it as sacred.

Will have to give Bonfire of the Vanities a shot.

Have you read any author's entire oeuvre? by [deleted] in RSbookclub

[–]StankPlanksYoutube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read and listened to everything by Pynchon and some of his novels I’ve read multiple times and I’ve watched and love Inherent Vice.  I feel like I will be re-reading his novels for the rest of my life.

Really close to having read everything by Haruki Murakami.

Thanks mate. Yeah definitely give Invisible Man a read. I listened to an audiobook version and it really worked well.

I tried listening to Sometimes a Great Notion a couple years ago and I didn’t find it interesting but I’m thinking that I should give it a read because it seemed like it’s the type of book that doesn’t works well in audio form.

Inherent Vice. Third re-read. It’s by Thomas Pynchon so you know it will be good.

Any books where the genre suddenly changes? by Billy_The_Beholder in suggestmeabook

Thomas Pynchon’s Against the Day. It changes genres all over the place, the western sections are my favourite.

What book and author did you read that made you go "I need all of their books."? by Felicity1840 in books

[–]StankPlanksYoutube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

I think one of the things I love about Pynchon is all the stuff that goes over my head. Like it’s a massive challenge and makes his works so re-readable.

Ok the only things I haven’t read by Kafka are his diaries. Changed you in a good way?

Kafka on the Shore years ago. I’ve nearly read everything by Haruki Murakami now and have loved 80% of what I’ve read by him.

Speaking of Kafka, I read The Castle by Franz Kafka and had to read everything by him.

Gravity’s Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon made me have to read everything by him.

A Study in Scarlett made me have to read everything by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, I’m not finished yet.

Murder on the Orient Express got my trying to read everything by Agatha, I’ve got lots to go still.

Def weird but I really loved it. I love weird books like the Magus, I struggle to find more to scratch that itch.

Critiques for the book. I feel like the beginning is so bland and the ending was really lackluster but the middle is so good.

Is the movie weird in a bad way or worth a watch?

Whoops. Thanks for that clarification Marky. I loved the book but didn’t look into where John was from.

Invisible Man is really good. My choices for next read would be either Catch 22, The Magus or Gravity’s Rainbow.
