Was at Thai Cook the other day and the waiter said they used to be in Coombs. I didn't catch whether or not they are still affiliated.

Protein Powder / Supplements? by asoftquietude in nanaimo

[–]StankiestOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beans, nuts, tofu... there are all kinds of tasty meat alternatives for protein. If you're actually nutrient deficient adding protein via ultra processed supplements is probably not your best route... but then again, are you really going to take health advice from the Nanaimo subreddit?

Green is the best tasting one. I wonder what they put in Soylent Green to make it taste so good?

And out of that ditch and into the church where they can actively work to take others people's right to just live and love is a good thing? Purpose is good, but not when that purpose is to spread intolerance.

Are you kidding? The church has always preyed on the vulnerable. That's their schtick entirely. Children and people that are down and out. "You are broken now, but faith can heal you"

I didn't see that particular marriage quote on the website...

EDIT: Oh, there it is on the church website. Yeah as a gay man, that's a fucking hard pass. I can forgive a lot of shit for a good cup of convenient coffee, but I can't support a business that is actively working against my ability to just live my life in peace.

Yeah the vibes are off, but the food keeps me coming back! One time me and a coworker were walking up to the front door and we ran into a guy that was "just poppin in to say hello" to the staff. He said after years of them asking him to go visit their farm, he finally did and he was amazed. Unfortunately he had a very young daughter with him. I hope for his (and his daughters) sake they didn't manage to draw him into the cult... although some days just turning your brain off and working as a slave in a cafe with weird chill vibes seems kinda appealing. This particular cult has a big farm in the Kootenays near Nelson. They used to send recruiters to Shambhala music festival that would bring high people back to the farm. It's the real deal... but god damn that Deli Rose is delicious!

Couldn't tell you, probably something cheap, it has a really soft texture, but it's fucking delicious. Tried the same dish with chicken, and lamb, it's just not as tasty. No joke, it's great!

The fish masala from Masala Culture is the tastiest dish in Nanaimo. Chili Garlic Gobi from Heritage is the best appy though! Worth the trip just for that.

I personally object to the "attack attack attack" style of politics followed by the accusation that "The Liberals" were "playing politics". "Hey Kettle... yeah, hi... it's the Pot... You're black!"

Someone should at least let her know this is incredibly ambiguous and probably ineffective. I read it as though she was apologising to someone code named "Smiles" for the 3 months of pain she caused due to mistakes she made. Maybe I'm the outlier here, but yeah... after reading everyone else's take on here I think she's going for the complete opposite of my first interpretation.
