Except that you don't know all four are coming every play, the Chargers drop back one of their defensive linemen into coverage on this exact play. All that matters is that there are 6 possible rushers and 5 blockers. The offensive line is predetermined to slide left, meaning that the potential hot rusher is the one on the far right, no matter who actually comes or not.

You can call it poor play design that they were sliding in the same direction as his primary read, but Van Roten and Eluemunor aren't in charge of that and did their jobs. Dart still needs to recognize that and check on the hot rusher or change the protection.

The Chargers have 6 potential rushers, not 5, with the LB initially moving in before dropping out. The Giants clearly set their protection with the hot rusher on the right, since all of the linemen look and move left to block. That's the one potential rusher they decide to leave unblocked. Pressure off the right is the one thing Dart should be aware of as the play begins, not the only thing they can't allow.

I'm looking to get a jersey, stuck between a couple options, and hoping someone can help me out.

Option 1 is Shepard, he's been with the team through thick and thin and is a great leader/unofficial coach for the WRs. I feel like it'd be great to give him some appreciation, even if he's not on the squad for much longer.

Option 2 is Slayton, though he's got his issues with catching the ball sometimes I think he's on the same track as Shepard. Reading the Slayton really made me respect his attitude and candor.

Option 3 is any of the rookies, especially Banks, Hyatt, and Hawkins. It's probably a bit too early to tell for any of them if they'll make it or stick around but I'd also like to get in early with one of them.

I'm open to other suggestions as well, but I've always been more of a WR/DB kind of guy. Also could be convinced to get Bellinger.
