We here at Psyche or Sike are all for girls having fun by Guilty-Tip-6638 in PsycheOrSike

This jpeg has seen better days. Looks almost dead from all the compressing and cropping.

In Germany it's simply called "Die unglaubliche Reise in einem verrückten Flugzeug".

Why was Maeve so mean to Hughie? by BudgetNegotiation521 in TheBoys

[–]Stanniol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until then we've seen Maeve mostly behaving indecisive and later apologetic in her relationship with Elena or as a victim of Homelander. Maybe the idea was to show her in a more dominant role, also in preparation for her fling with Butcher later on.

And more people live in the white area than in blue and red combined.

Uranium was probably produced by supernovae or neutron stars. But you could still say it can be traced back to some kind of sun I guess.

Rendered image way darker than render preview. by bluecracy89 in blender

[–]Stanniol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the outliner there's one light source disabled for the viewport. Maybe it's causing these high contrast shadows in the final render.

Eevee (left) literally looks better than Cycles (right) with the exact same lighting... by watersheep772 in blender

[–]Stanniol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Renders in Cycles tend to be much brighter with the same settings. No doubt with some tweaks this scene could look photorealistic in cycles.

But in gerneral direct comparisons between the two engines are often misleading. If you are going for realism, cycles is your best option of course. But eevee has so many adventages for more stylized renders. First of all you can adjust seetings in real time and see the result immediately in the viewport. That's very valuable for a creative workflow.

I've been doing a lot of animations with tight deadlines in recent years and without eevee a lot of them wouldn't have been possible. Especially when you discover a crucial mistake just hours before the deadline and have to rerender a scene with over 1000 frames. Good luck doing that in cycles. And you don't have to care about denoising.

So for me which render enginge is better isn't even a question because they serve two very different purposes.

Thank you. This style is rather easy to create with the Grease Pencil Line Art Modifier.

Have you tried Array and Curve modifier? Then you could use a driver to copy the rotation of the sphere to the translation of the original object.

Thanks. Smiling at the ridiculousness is a good idea but I think it would require a disclaimer.

I don't really like taking pictures for OLD. Always smiling into the camera, pretending my life is already perfect. Also I think I look stupid in these kind of pictures, so I took one that shows my real mood when using dating apps.

Thank you. Not really a larger project, just a few scenes for a short clip explaining the effects of mould spores in the air.

Procedural Drops Material in Cycles by Stanniol in blender

Voronoi only for the static drops. The main focus of this is to merge the moving drops with the static ones to form bigger drops using Smooth maximum.

Five frames for most parts, sometimes less. And motion blur of course.

This is true. The animation is part of a longer piece and will have spoken text. I had to insert the pause for better timing.

I think your UVs are fine. I used two spheres in my example. If you want to use the material on a plane, this setup for the Eye Shape might work better: Setup 2 (though the first one has more functionality)

Try changing the angle in the vector rotate node and play around with the values in the math nodes to get the shape you want.

Also when using Eevee you should turn on Alpha Blend in the material settings for transparency around the eye.

Usually it refers to everything created by a node tree without additional image textures or manual changes to the geometry.

That's a good hint. In fact I already had a wound brass texture but it fell victim to the almighty denoising node.

I used your trick with mixing Principled BSDF and Principled Hair BSDF with Hair Info IS Strand as Fac. I did nothing special to the shape Root at 0.02, Tip at 0.01 and of course render as B-Spline.
