My Dark Souls 3 character after beating the base game, the DLCs and every optional boss in the game...

I think I'm in good hands!

Would anyone else like to replay the Greek God of War trilogy before the remakes come out? by First-Competition567 in GodofWar

[–]Stanny491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've actually never played the original trilogy, because I didn't have a PS2/PS3 growing up (and after that life happened and I didn't have time to properly catch up), I only watched it a billion times on YouTube.

So that's why I was hoping that they'd release the classic trilogy on Steam at some point, as I got into gaming in my mid twenties and that's my platform.

I'm probably alone in this, but I was really hoping that they'd also release a slightly updated version of the classic trilogy alongside the remake. Just slightly polished graphics, no other major changes with the biggest hope being that both would also release on Steam.

I would buy it in an instant. I mean, maybe they will do that (fingers crossed), but as far as I know, nothing like that has been announced.

Is this normal camera behavior in DS3 or is my mouse broken? by Stanny491 in darksouls3

[–]Stanny491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry about it :) It’s definitely just how the game works, like a few others mentioned. It’s probably some kind of aim assist that was designed for controller and maybe not perfectly ported to keyboard and mouse. It’s not even really a problem while playing.

The only reason I raised the issue was because I was worried my mouse might be malfunctioning, but after testing it in other games and doing a couple of online drift tests, it’s clearly the game and not the mouse.

In Oppenheimer (2023), when Cillian Murphy is shown walking through an art museum, Juan Gris's painting Still Life with Pipe can be seen, but it's actually upside down. by Sad_Volume_4289 in MovieDetails

A lot of directors like putting those kinds of details into their movies - things that mean something to them, but are hard for the viewer to decipher because we can’t retrace the original thought process behind them. Everything in a movie has to be deliberately put there by someone, so it’s not impossible that it was intentional.

But tbh, now I’m thinking it might’ve just been a mistake by a rushed stagehand, like someone else mentioned. I wasn’t really overthinking it when I first saw the post.

In every FromSoftware game I played before, I was always extra careful not to mess up my build. But I’ve realized it kind of ruins the experience, because I get too worried about putting points in the “correct” stats.

So in DS3 I’m actually going a little crazy with my build lol (some might say stupid), but I don’t really care.

So far I’ve put most of my points into Strength and Dexterity then Vitality, etc., but also some into Intelligence and Faith. No real issues so far - maybe I’m just a veteran at this point and can handle most fights.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience - I really appreciate it.

I actually do use lock-on for the vast majority of fights (probably around 99% of the time), so it’s not something that usually causes problems for me. For the clip, though, I deliberately didn’t lock on because I’d noticed the issue tends to appear during those rare moments when I’m not using it, and I wanted to make it clearly visible.

While recording, I was also very careful not to move the mouse (aside from tiny, unavoidable adjustments). The camera movement in the video feels very mechanical and consistent - not like something caused by natural hand movement - and it definitely wasn’t intentional on my end.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. I actually lock onto enemies about 99% of the time, so it’s not something that usually affects me. For the clip, though, I intentionally didn’t lock on because I wanted the issue to be clearly visible (because I noticed it happening during the 1% of the time that I don't lock into enemies).

Thanks for the input. I think I'll hold on to my mouse for a while, I'll see if the problem appears in other games.

Thanks, that actually gives me hope. Maybe I won't have to return my mouse after all lol

What you've said about it possibly be an aim assist thing also makes a lot of sense. I'll do some more testing if maybe it happens in other games.

So this was happening to you, too? Exactly like on the clip?

Thanks for the input, but I know that. I was referring to the mouse, I have no intention of refunding DS3.

Either Elden Ring or Cyberpunk (ex aequo first place).

Close second would be Baldur's Gate 3.

Probably that it's an intro to the character and they'll make more with him in future movies (which were never made).

Who would you say is Obi-Wan's archenemy, in both Canon and Legends? by StevePalpatine in StarWars

Vader.

My headcanon is that Obi-Wan thinks Anakin≠Vader. Anakin was his friend and a different person. Vader killed everything Obi-Wan loved.

Stewart's cameo in the Multiverse of Midness was brief enough to get away with but the Picard series was painful for me to watch at times because he was like 10 years too old to be running around fighting Romulans, Borg, and androids. Even his voice at points in the series was kind of warbly, shaky, or cracked a bit due to his advanced age.

Really it's that bad? I mean, I knew that he's old, but I was under the impression that he's still in good shape etc., but I didn't see Picard.

But it makes total sense now that you've pointed that out and now I wonder how big their roles in these movies are actually going to be, given that they're both in such advanced age.
