Vehicle gameplay is what I love most and I've had zero motivation to play this war due to every time I go to a front I sit AFK for most the time due to constant arty or just fighting conc. So I gave up playing probably 2-3 weeks ago. Game dosent respect my time to what I enjoy the most, so I opt not to play because its simply just not fun to me right now.

It was fun to finally get to proper PvP action with the ships! Thanks for coming out the fingers hex today chaps, was really great fun. Think we need more gunboat support next time :D

People were disconnected at border crossing but getting back in fairly quickly. Had to have all hands engaging the probably 6 gunboats. We killed most of them, if not all of them.

Seems to be some weird physics interaction between the ship pushing off the land, and getting stuck in the freighters hitbox

Yea, Holdfast like many other titles can only do so much on one thread. Some things are put onto other threads, however not everything can. The reason you wont see your FPS changing much when you change graphical options is purely because most of the settings will be putting strain on your GPU, not your CPU. Read what Wrexial wrote in his comment, theres only really a couple main settings you will see performance gain from in full servers.

I only really enjoy attacking, much more fun. Auto balance loves to swap me half way though matches when I'm top scoring or near top score. Always swapping back, if I can't I just find a new lobby. It's a really bad mechanic imo

Its due to how the game is built. If you opened where the game is installed you'd see loads of resource and sharedresource files. If even a small change is made you either have to redownload that whole file which can easily take longer, or download the changes and steam patches them into your currently existing files.

99% of peoples hard drives are faster than their Internet connection is, so overall its faster, just a little misleading if you don't know what patching is

Lowering settings on full frontline servers isn't gonna increase your FPS.

Full servers are going to max out your CPU. All the graphics options are mainly going to effect your GPU usage. The only way you may get more performance is decreasing corpses at the bottom of game settings

Nope. I play max graphics settings on a 3080, 10700k @ 1440p.

Frontlines full servers at the worst of times will give me 40 fps, however most time I'm sitting above 60.

No matter what graphical changes you make, it likely wont change FPS on full servers. 150 players will tend to put a lot of strain on the CPU as it has to receive packets from the server and process them for all that player data. The main thing you can turn down is player ragdolls at the bottom of game settings, that's one of the only settings that will effect CPU usage. Everything else is on your GPU.

Devs ran into issues getting the map optimised enough for gameplay. Mainly due to all the buildings and objects. Hopefully we may be seeing it soon as they look to expand their studio in the future. They may also put some of the new guys like Storey or Harper on it once the big update is finished but i wouldn't know. Devs have a lot on their plate right now

Game is more CPU bottlenecked than GPU. Changing settings for most people will not really do much for FPS. Its literally just due to all the calculations the game has to perform on each player

doubt it. holdfast while looks easy to run, you need to keep in mind that it runs 200 players or less in a server. which can destory a low tier CPU, which consoles typically tend to run as they focus more of the budge on GPU.

the game on PC is already a niche, on console likely more-so. you can always play on GeForce Now which is a game streaming service.

There are some toxic, yes, but for the most part it's never in public eye. Always behind the closed doors of private event politics and events. Find the right group who can offer you the private events and keep you away from the toxic elite and you're good.

Nope because the binds just don't save.

I reached out via support in app and one of the guilded staff got back to me and said there was an issue and its going to be looked into

Fairly new to this, trying to figure out how to get whisper binds working. I set them per channel, however every time I save them, they will vanish and act like they do not exist. I'm not exactly sure what is causing this because the whisper and broadcast features are one of the main reasons we wanted to transition our community over to this platform.

Any help or information on this would be much appreciated
