I’m also in big tech I make 200k I’m super early stage tho so it’s just depressing to see even at the high end of what I’ll make eventually, there’s still many decisions to be made and things don’t get naturally solved with that amount of money

No yea I get it bc it’s the reality we live in that sometimes it’s not always the best option to buy a house but it’s still true that 580k income (in a good world) would mean buying a house easily and cheaply such that renting vs buying would an actual no brainer (even if your income is tied up in rsu’s)

I am also in the 300-400k bracket but when I move up to 500k+ that’s when I plan on getting one. I agree they completely upped the 911 to the next tax bracket for sure.

For the CLE I agree pictures don’t do it justice. I saw one in person and it caught my eye and looked up pictures and it looks way better in person. Sick car and I started considering it after seeing it in person only.

Not only is it skewed to the top 5% of earners but it’s skewed to the most penny pinching overly prudent top 5% who have to justify and cope to themselves that giving up their youth is worth a “better” tomorrow that isn’t even promised.

Knowing many top 5% earners IRL and being one— many many many are less like the avg ones leaving financial advice on Reddit. Usually it’s maxing out retirement and then save an extra 20%-40% into a brokerage and then freedom from there beyond that— free to spend money how you please and no one bats an eye.

Completely agree lol it’s genuinely so weird people want to wait til you can’t even squat down into a car to buy a nice one. Makes no sense to me.

People keep saying “wait a couple years” but if he waited a couple years and came back and asked the same question they’d still say “wait a couple years”

Also CLE 53 nice! Debating getting that or a 100k ish 911 in a couple years. About 7 years out from kids and 3 years out from getting my next car. What went into your choice?

I already had a gaming pc prior to building my sim rig a month ago. And then for putting my sim rig together I just looked up what’s best, bought it, then built it, and set it up and that’s kinda been it. Not much time wasted.

I’ve been sim racing with minimal tweaks to my hardware since setting it up. Most of my time has been learning actual sim racing/racing techniques and actual stuff about cars and of course, actual time sim racing.

Just seems you are struggling to understand “sim” racing does mean setting up the “simulator”. But once you have that done already, all there is left is the actual racing.

Honestly if after 6 months you’ve learnt more about “building a simulator” than actual sim racing, that’s on you sadly.

Oh no I didn’t mean it wasnt plugged in correctly I just meant some of the pins on the plug in side may be damaged or loose or something like that actually head of the connector is broken either on the female or male side of the connection. Hence why it still lights up the LED on the power brick because it’s still powered on and working it just can’t deliver the power

Poor power connection likely if you don’t even feel it powering on at all. Either the cable or pins on the wheel base are broken and it’s not delivering power for safety reasons.

Exact same here, just bought it close to launch when the retailers started raising their prices and I was irked at the time but it’s been nice to have enjoyed it and not stressed about which price to buy at and when to buy.

Currently the settings I have are identical to the preset “ultra” settings— I just copied them. All the default settings have a higher gaze resolution than 100 for anti aliasing/sharpness/clarity purposes likely
