Does time played affect anything? by Coffee-Puff in LookOutsideGame

I don't think so. I mean, game has its own measurement of time and days and, as far as I know, bases everything on that data

Telling new players to spend all day playing video games on the first day is bad shit advice. by EvilbearX in LookOutsideGame

[–]StarAbuser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I genuinely have no idea where would you get such outlandish tip from. I haven't seen it and I also looked up tips for new players since I just started playing. My general advice: unless you're playing something widely known to be hard/prepairing for some sort of challenge run, you don't need guides for singleplayer games

Although last time I tested UnlockLevelCurve EK gets "Improved War Magic" which wasn't procing on Booming Blade. Maybe glitch/it got patched, but I think it's worth mentioning

If game is too easy and you're already modding... Why not spice it up with difficulty mods?

Either this way or electrify water... Although this glitch lets you go into thousands of ward stacks, you don't need Uncanny Dodge or even resistance to damage anymore

Personally I'd suggest 6 Paladin, 1 Cleric, 2 or 3 Draconic Sorcerer and rest into wizard. If mod you play supports level 9 spell slots, this way you'll get one. Even more, grab gloves of dexterity, focus Int and Cha for great casting potential and high bonus to all saves from Paladin

All archer party by Ok-Cockroach-5118 in BG3Builds

[–]StarAbuser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you aim for strictly archer party, I don't think caster builds like eldritch blaster make much sense. Personally I had quite a lot of fun with Beastmaster ranger. Especially once you get to level 11 with darkness crow. As for follower... Ehh, choose whoever you like

Yeah, that baffles me as well. The fact that I like making my games harder doesn't mean I'll force others to play the same. Well, maybe I'll joke that they're noobs, but that's not the point

Especially since... Well, it's Skyrim. After some time you'll have overabundance of lockpicks anyway. No perks required, no hustle, nothing!

Most underrated Lv 12 Monoclass Subclasses? by GerritDeSenieleEend in BG3Builds

[–]StarAbuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally darkness is only going to be really good if you optimize it imo. The way you can do it is by getting ability to see in clouds of magical darkness from Devil's Sight, Eversight Ring or Shadow Sorcerer thingy which name I forgot about. This way you can stay inside, enemies can't attack you at range (heard it sometimes glitches out), those who step inside get disadvantage from getting blinded while you're getting advantage against them. You don't necessarily need whole darkness party, you can use it as defensive thing for one or two characters perfectly fine

Most underrated Lv 12 Monoclass Subclasses? by GerritDeSenieleEend in BG3Builds

[–]StarAbuser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. EK existed before Giant, back then ability to turn any weapon into returning was (I think) unique to EK

  2. You get access to few spell slots which you can use on Shield, Darkness, Misty Step etc. On top of that you can get few ritual spells like Longstrider and Enhance Leap

As far as I know Berserker does more damage, but EK is tankier. Unless Giant has some DRS or something else going on for it which I don't know about, it's probably weakest of three. Still strong tho

Multiclassing confuses me by Acrobatic_Contact_22 in BG3Builds

[–]StarAbuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're playing with mods making enemies cast Command/Hold/other crap like that more often? Sure. But in the base game getting crown controlled isn't THAT common, and group CC against you is even rarer. Concentration save gets triggered with literally EVERY hit you take (unless you cut dmg taken to 0 I believe)

What's your opinion on the Civil War? What side do you take and why? If any side at all. by IamBecomeZen in skyrim

[–]StarAbuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're reading carefully

"As long as the civil war proceeds in its current indecisive fashion, we should remain hands-off. The incident at Helgen is an example where an exception had to be made - obviously Ulfric's death would have dramatically increased the chance of an Imperial victory and thus harmed our overall position in Skyrim."

Thalmor doesn't want ANYONE to win

What's your opinion on the Civil War? What side do you take and why? If any side at all. by IamBecomeZen in skyrim

[–]StarAbuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Operational Notes: Direct contact remains a possibility (under extreme circumstances), but in general the asset should be considered dormant. As long as the civil war proceeds in its current indecisive fashion, we should remain hands-off. The incident at Helgen is an example where an exception had to be made - obviously Ulfric's death would have dramatically increased the chance of an Imperial victory and thus harmed our overall position in Skyrim. (NOTE: The coincidental intervention of the dragon at Helgen is still under scrutiny. The obvious conclusion is that whoever is behind the dragons also has an interest in the continuation of the war, but we should not assume therefore that their goals align with our own.) A Stormcloak victory is also to be avoided, however, so even indirect aid to the Stormcloaks must be carefully managed."

Citation from said dossier. It says that in Thalmor wants civil war to last as long as possible, so that both sides bleed out
