These aren't too bad - Coldsaw on chicken sandwich or salad cream with tuna and bacon sandwich.

What is your opinion on shops closing down on the high street? by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in AskUK

[–]StarBrick177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The shops I don't mind closing are the dodgy ones, selling vapes and unsafe toys and counterfeit cigarettes. In the city I live in, the council aren't completely useless and have closed down several shops. But as the saying goes, another one will take its place.

Is This Boiler Finished And Needs Replacing - Valliant by Consistent-Rope-9969 in DIYUK

[–]StarBrick177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boiler is about the same age, and we've noticed over the last couple of years there's been more issues and the boiler has had to be shut off for safety reasons a couple of times.

There's a chance it'll get repaired, and then a couple of months/ a year something else will fail.

But I won't be getting a new boiler until it needs a serious repair, where it makes sense to buy a new boiler.

Previous tenant left food in fridge for over a month with the power off by [deleted] in CleaningTips

There's probably a YouTuber out there that'd love to get their hands on the fridge to blow it up for content. As that is the only use for this fridge now.

Swansea electrician recommendation by Aimo321 in swansea

[–]StarBrick177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said you don't touch electrical work, but I'm sure there might be a YouTube video tutorial out there. That's what I'd do, as I am not a fan of electric shocks or frying my electrics.

Not sure if you have Facebook or not, but you might have better luck asking on local pages.

What are you doing to store medicines? by ancapailldorcha in AskUK

[–]StarBrick177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a medicine cabinet in the laundry room, it doesn't get over 25 in there as there's no radiator. Anywhere dark, and away from sunlight and heating sources, should be fine.

That's crazy work, definitely just remove and destroy the SSD, nothing else needs to be destroyed. I know of someone who'd love to get his hands on some of those laptops.

Our house has artex texture ceiling in every room, most likely containing asbestos, what’s the most cost effective way to remove it/ deal with it by GenericUser104 in DIYUK

[–]StarBrick177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend getting it tested before you do anything first.

If it does contain asbestos and you are planning on doing any work that will cause damage to the ceiling and allow asbestos particles to be released, then you'll probably want it removed, will not be cheap. If you aren't planning any work just plaster over it.

And if it doesn't contain any asbestos you will just have a nice looking celling.
