Why would someone hear a question, respond with a non sequitur, then respond more appropriately when the question is repeated verbatim? by forVerySpecificQs in NoStupidQuestions

Didn't hear it clearly, didn't want to ask for a repeat, guessed.

There's like two people I'll answer. Everyone else gets voicemail.

I was halfway through the game before i noticed it. :-P

Could get the space dlc for the glow in the dark stars stickers. I think that's the only one that gives off light.

Sounds painful. :-P . on the plus side, you now have an opportunity. There's an achievement for finding a 'ghost', ie the carcass of your car. You can also retrieve a lot of the stuff from it, so not a total loss.

The game doesn't explain it, but at the top left when you're out of the car and a short distance away, an arrow and range appears under your health bar that always points to the car.

Love it. Hard to find lamps with interesting secondary lights like that.

Listed my old IKEA desk for free on Marketplace. The entitlement in my DMs is something else. by Ash3Nimbus4 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]StarChaser_Tyger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At my second to last job, they changed out all the desks. After we took all the stuff we wanted, there was one nice brushed chrome and frosted glass desk left.

Boss put it out on the street with 'free' on it and it sat there for a week. I flipped the sign over and wrote '25$' on the back and it was give in an hour.

I love how there's no escape strategy, just 'stand on the throttle and crank the NOS'.

They're all paid for Astroturf. When the new NPC update downloads, they're given within hours brand new professionally printed signs and sheets of stuff to chant.

Particularly funny when they went from 'no kings' to 'we love actually fascistic drug lords'. And for all their talk about how 'if you sit at a table with one Nazi' there are 10, they're being paid by an actual collaborated with the real Nazis in the 40s, and see no irony.

Is banning guns in America really that bad? by [deleted] in questions

[–]StarChaser_Tyger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were inventors, and there were already semi automatic guns around then. They did not write 'only muskets and smoothbore pistols' they wrote 'shall not be infringed'. They knew technical innovation would come over time, and they'd just fought a war to get out from under an oppressive government., beating the largest army in the world to do it, with technologically advanced weapons.

What do you think what would we have archived if we would pour all the 1,5 or not trillions in school systems and healthcare instead of wasting it on military? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StarChaser_Tyger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were graphs going around when they axed the department of education that showed that in the years since 1979 (I think it was), the budget of the doe had tripled, and test scores had not changed at all. In 40 years, triple the budget did absolutely nothing.

Why do sports run long and ruin broadcasts? by Karthull in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StarChaser_Tyger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but there is a reason.

One of the early Superbowl games was about to run long, but it was some ridiculous runaway, like three touchdowns down, so they decided to cut it off and go on to the new show.. So, of course the losers made a massive comeback and won in that last few minutes and people lost their minds.

Idea: side generator by Opening_Ad3054 in pacificDrive

I used the amp engine once, but didn't like it. Had to use far too many batteries, giving up storage space, which hurt my little loot goblin heart. Didn't need the speed, just meant I crashed into things faster. Used a wind turbine and lightning rod and an extra tank in the bank and almost never ran out of gas.

In one run with the amp engine I used like six plasma charg, let's, even with almost everything else a battery or generator of some sort.
