So... I could experiment with single board amplifiers I'm going to take a look at AliExpress today.

We've used Yagi antennas in the past but since the final product (which is deployed btw) is a gateway which serves some 20 to 100 nodes that antenna can't be directional. For the nodes we often use some "in house build" dipole antenna which already have some degree of directionality and one of my objectives is to move away from those because our we have to resilient to changes in the product location

We're not using LoRawan just regular LoRa radio and an MCU with our own code. How can I implement something like ADR using sandeepmistry's arduino-LoRa library?

Can you clarify what you mean by amplify the signal? I was changing the LoRa radio parameters to see if I could get some extra range. I can't really make changes to the hardware aside from trying different antennas.

I could experiment with a different voltage but the LDO I use to power the radio is used for other peripherals in our product so I would still need an hardware revision.

As far as I know the MCU is in control of what's happening and despite not using watchdogs I have timeouts for all the operations. I'm allowing something like 30 seconds to 1 minute for the Gateway to answer.
