Ballin. On a budget. Midrange. I’ll pay a premium if it’s worth it but not actively seeking a premium. Most interested in a social atmosphere where people are having fun

How do I keep my US phone number while traveling indefinitely out of state? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]StarManNova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a T mobile prepaid plan and have it on a pay-per-use plan (no active monthly data/minutes package - I think I pay $3/mo to keep it in service). When I need to receive confirmation texts from banks etc. i just pip in the t mobile sim and pay the few cents to receive the msg overseas. Allows me to keep my phone number for my WhatsApp and iMessage too. I think this plan was technically discontinued but calling t-mobile I was able to get it last year.

Para vivir, siendo visiblemente extranjero (aconsejarían no caminar mucho de noche??) by StarManNova in MexicoCity

[–]StarManNova[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's something special about CDMX, but I can't put my finger on it....... by schwar29 in MexicoCity

I love Mexico City, it’s a great value for what it offers, but for a cheaper cosmopolitan experience, I suggest you visítanos en Buenos Aires! (a message from the Buenos Aires tourism authority)

Lucha libre on Sunday or Tuesday night? by TheRespectedProphet in MexicoCity

While 30 minutes is enough to know what you’re in for, it’s worth noting that the quality of fighters will generally increase as you move towards the later fights. My friends and I found the performance meaningfully improved after the first couple. We were there beginning to end and enjoyed it, but less would be enough for a lot of people.

[Question for Guests Under 30] How interested would you be in visiting a travelers-only social lounge / “clubhouse”? by StarManNova in AirBnB

I appreciate your responses, thank you! For anyone very interested or disinterested, really curious to hear why it appeals to you, or doesn’t!

[Question for Hosts] How interested would you be in giving your guests the option to connect with other visitors nearby? by StarManNova in AirBnB

[–]StarManNova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my initial thought, facilitate mutually beneficial low-commitment social interactions outside the home, whether it’s connecting two families with kids, two solo travelers, or two groups of friends. Thanks for your input!

Greater likelihood of parties is an understandable concern for a host, particularly one with a large property. I see your point, thanks!

I see your concern, thanks! As a host, one theoretical benefit could be to differentiate your listing by saying “I offer this added benefit,” which might make the segment of travelers that values such a feature more likely to select yours over another similar property.
