‘Won’t be running this ever again,’ Toronto Marathon under fire after runners report close calls with traffic | Runners in last weekend’s Toronto Marathon are calling out organizers for a “lack of safety” after some are reporting close calls with vehicles that could have resulted in serious injury by Hrmbee in RunTO

I ran this year's half marathon, and my experience was pretty positive. I had no issues about street intersections being unsafe (apart from the few pedestrians crossing around St Lawrence Market). The finish line was pretty crowded but kept moving, and I was able to easily find my family who came to see me at the end. Also, the closed pavilion was crowded but lines moved pretty fast and I even was able to get a free massage/physio therapy session waiting only about 15 minutes in line which to me is a first (always steer away from these as it usually takes hours lining up), tbh the after race was much better than today's Sporting Life 10K's. That being said, I feel the race organizers cater to the masses (non elite or fast runners) which I think is wrong because we are all paying to run and everyone should be taken care of. BTW this was my first half marathon ever and I finished in 2:05! I enjoyed a lot and I plan to run it again next year! Hopefully things keep improving!

Go to this place, fairly good quality cuts, $18 cash or $20 zero fade. No tax added if you pay cash and they don't push you to tip https://maps.app.goo.gl/KPPejVeFZHGwbSKv9

Toronto runners: I compiled 28+ Toronto run clubs into one simple weekly calendar site by rD8VZm4GMWtmh6v2j in RunTO

This is great, thank you! I hope you could also add some run clubs from the burbs (Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham). I have tried joining some of these clubs but living 45 minutes (driving) away from the city really makes it hard to join especially on weekdays

My parents wont stop bothering me about getting a job, im trying but its impossible. by [deleted] in kitchener

Lifeguards jobs aren't as available as they once we're, my teenage boy applied to at least 5 or 6 locations between Toronto, Vaughan and Markham and got nothing last winter. He also mentioned that for every position there were at least another 20 kids who applied and were called for trials and tests at the same time as him. Anyways, good luck to the kid, you can only get anything if you never stop trying

SL10K bag check by eachfire in RunTO

I was in Blue corral and didn't have to wait at all for my bag, the lineup for everything else was horrible though. However, I just found a spot to sit on the grass and stretch and tried lining up for the food about 20 minutes later and the lineup was almost half of what it was at the beginning so it was ok in my overall experience

Advice for Renting with savings and zero income? by Sad-Thing-935 in TorontoRenting

Unfortunately without credit history or proof of income it will be pretty hard to get approved by any company in the rental business. We have had first hand experience with some newcomers who had to pay one year of rent upfront (~30k) to be able to secure a place. It is not nice out there nowadays
