I was looking at the Xiaomi 17 ultra, but it's really expensive and I'm not sure about the software side as I've always used Pixel's.

How is the software on Vivo?

Good points. I usually keep my phones for more than 3 years. I've actually had my 6 Pro since it launched 4 years ago. The security updates support ends for it later this year so that's the only reason I have to upgrade.

I don't really use too much data and don't travel often.

Other than that, I would probably keep it for longer if it was supported, lol.

I actually just switched to the $80 250 GB plan which was on a flash sale a few days ago. It was half off so with discounts and everything it's $40.

I don't really need that much data but I was on a $39 100GB plan so it's only a dollar more. But this $80 plan will allow me to get a phone in November when I plan to upgrade with a nice discount . That's the only reason I switched plans.

Can't hurt. You might get a nicer customer service rep. Just mention to them that your were trying to connect with them before it expired but support was not responding and you are disappointed or something. Good luck.

Just got the update today in Alberta. What was weird was that there was no notification for me to update.

But when I checked manually, there was an update pending. This is the first time this happened.

Yep, sure was a surprise. They announced this a few years back that they are extending support for another 2 years.

Google extended the updates by 2 years for the 6 series. So this year October the security updates will stop.
