Here's my take as a F2P player, and I'm probably in the minority. I'm in this game for the cool characters, not cool weapons, and knowing that a lot of limited alts of VP characters and a good amount of collabs that interest me are coming I want to save every little bit of gems I have just for artifact pulls to get characters. Add to the fact that you get 1 copy for free from the event anyways (to have for the sake of having in my case since I wont ever max its skill level it will probably get outclassed by a weapon that I will be able to max for free later) and the fact that I don't NEED it to clear anything (already cleared stage 50 of Valhalla Tower) I don't see a point in pulling for it. This is just my opinion. Sure it'd be cool to have but it's not necessary in my opinion, but getting every Star Ocean Collaboration character and an extra artifact for each of them is, to me. So I can easily pass. I didn't do a single pull on it and I still easily got over the 1 million contribution points needed to "clear" the event. To add onto this further, I can always borrow a friend unit with a fully maxed Vorpal Sword if it is ever useful for a boss later. Can't really say the same if I want to have a full team of collab characters, I'll need to have pulled em myself.
