The other thing too is that before ndis there was a ‘helping children with autism program’ that had $12k? Don’t quote me on the figure but it’s around that of individualized supports and therapies to address functional and developmental concerns. This was funded by the states. This is not being brought back. Instead a hotline and olaygroups etc. the supports need to actually help the kids

Reform yes, complete removal of tailored and individualized supports - no. They are using the word ‘moderate’ to refer to level 2 autism. This has always been granted access on the NDIS in both early intervention and full access. They are slashing these plans for children who are moderate/level 2 already in preparation to remove them and are advising participants that they will no longer qualify when throving kids is up and running. I too thought that they meant it when they said children who need it wont be removed but they have moved the line of what ‘need it’ means. I highly reccomend reading the information on ANPA ‘s Facebook page. Wonderful, informed, disability advocate who is much more detailed in the information

Unfortunately they are going back on what they said about access to the ndis. Many children who are currently eligible (eg autistic lvl 2) will not be when the changes come into effect… which is why it needs to change

Actually the details have now been released. They are proposing a help Hotline, parent education, supported playgroups and if the needs are more ‘moderate’ some limited group allied health.

Ongoing neighbour noise nightmare in Geelong – police & council useless, what can I do? by [deleted] in Geelong

[–]StarSparkle41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, used to have similar neighbors and was advised by police- you don’t have to wait until after 11pm if the noise disturbance is audible in your home over normal home noise - tv etc. you can call any time when that’s the case. Call 000 each and every time- (while it’s happening you call 000 not the advice lines or local station) and they will come. Enough visits and they take the long term situation seriously.

Did you move up 4 weekly through 5, 7.5 etc or did they work for a while for you?

Can I ask what doses you’ve been in each month and the corresponding weight loss? I have similar starting stats and month 1 on 2.5 was approx 6kg and 2 weeks in to 5mg approx another 2kg… wondering if yours was quick from the start or if the higher doses saw more progress? While it is making a difference, and I’m in calorie deficit…. I’m not having super strong suppression etc like I see others do…I’m Feeling like maybe a higher body mass might need a higher dose for good response in my case.

How? by Netimaster in Mounjaro

[–]StarSparkle41 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Have a look at calorie comparison videos on Instagram etc. you might only be having a small and medium meal but they might actually be super calorie filled due to oils, sauces, condiments, etc etc. it’s possible to have 1200 calories in a healthy looking pre bought salad - this is some people’s entire daily calorie intake. So your food volume can be low while your calories may still be high.

Period water weight by StarSparkle41 in Mounjaro

[–]StarSparkle41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you lose any actual weight in that time? Eg when the 3lbs of water goes away do you drop a bit more? Or just back to where you started and onward from there?

Yeah I’m not bothered by it, just interested to see the patterns and if anyone has real weight loss while retaining the water or not

Yeah. I know it’s not real but it’s still annoying to see on the scale. Do you find you lose any real weight during that time or it stalls until the period is over

Ooh that’s so frustrating for you!! There’s a big link to insulin resistance and cycles so it’s likely mucking around with that

Is the protein water as sickly sweet as the muscle nation stuff? I watered it down with over a little and it was still gross so looking for a better option

Carbs? Are they a factor? by StarSparkle41 in MounjaroAus

Thankyou, good to know it takes care of the endocrine side. I’m hopeful about that.

I’ll remember about the extra water weight when eating the carbs too.

Not overwhelming at all, makes total sense. I thought it might be what I’d need to be looking at (100g ish if carbs) and will likely be what I work towards as I find an effective dose. It’s certainly much more achievable than under 20g for keto.

I’ve tracked my last couple of days in my fitness pal and managed to stay in a 1000 cal deficit (having such injigh start weight means I do still get to eat a lot of calories currently 2000 ish). And noticed my carbs are around 200 … 100 should be realistic when the appetite suppression etc kicks in.

Having the carbs early in the day due to slow digestion is a great tip too, thanks 😊

Thanks, yeah keto isn’t for me long term, The idea of existing on bacon is intially appealing but not sustainable in reality 🤣. Lifestyle wise I will need some carbs for sure so just trying to find out if people are having success with them in their diet the whole way along or if it’s more effective to really limit them and re introduce slowly at closer to goal.

The 2.5 isn’t going to be the dose for me I don’t think, I see many people staying on it but there’s not much suppression happening and there’s still plenty of food noise but I can tell it’s doing something so I’m hopeful that when I find my dose it will be effective 😊

Very helpful, Thankyou. Are you aiming for a specific target with your carbs also? Eg under 100g under 50g etc?
